Jointly build green and low-carbon industries
Ambassador Jose Carlos da Fonseca Junior, Executive Director of the Brazilian Forest Industry Association, delivered a keynote report on "The Brazilian Forest Industry", highlighting the outstanding contribution of the Brazilian forest industry to achieving carbon reduction and carbon neutrality in the current climate crisis. The Brazilian forest industry has developed about 5,000 renewable, recyclable, mostly biodegradable bio-based products, and the share of renewable energy generation has reached 90%.
Mr. Joao Cordeiro, head of the pulp and Paper Line of AFRY Group, introduced the dynamics of the global paper market and the development of the pulp and paper industry in China and Brazil under the title "Global Pulp and Paper Market dynamics - focusing on Brazil". Joao Cordeiro mentioned in the report that the global pulp trade volume has reached 70 million tons, and the fastest growing area of demand in paper products is paper towels and wrapping paper, driving the industry's demand for pulp and recycled fibers to further increase.
Give play to the green advantages of biomass
Realize high value utilization of resources
Professor Jin Yongcan of Nanjing Forestry University, with the title of "Carbon Properties and Lignin resource Utilization in pulp and paper Industry", introduced the main sources and development history of carbon emissions in the paper industry, analyzed the problems faced in realizing the goal of "dual carbon", and pointed out that the high-quality sustainable development of the paper industry needs to strengthen the recycling of waste resources and reduce energy consumption. Applying industrial lignin from pulping to agricultural and forestry crops is an effective way to realize lignin resource utilization and carbon balance of fiber raw materials.
Xu Junming, a researcher at the Institute of Forest Chemical Industry of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, published a report entitled "Development and cutting-edge Technology of Lignin based chemicals", introducing the strategy of high value utilization of wood fiber, such as thermal conversion of forest biomass into bio-fuel or separation and utilization to obtain lignin and cellulose, focusing on the development and cutting-edge technology of lignin based chemicals. Such as lignin separation, sulfonation, sealing, derivatives electrocatalytic reaction.
Jose Tomas Corthorn, Chief Representative of CMPC China, delivered a report on the theme of "CMPC's Strategy towards a Circular Bioeconomy", shared CMPC's rich and expanded experience in the whole value chain of the wood industry, and introduced its research and innovation in biomass products, sustainable packaging, pulp molding products and other aspects.
Construction of paper based material characteristics
Develop advanced functional materials
Professor Zhong Linxin of South China University of Technology made a report entitled "Paper-based flexible supercapacitor electrode". The functional properties and application potential of various paper-based flexible supercapacitor electrode materials, such as N-doped carbon sheet/polyaniline (PANI) nanocellulosic fiber flexible composite materials, ultra-high capacity foldable supercapacitor electrode materials, electrostatic self-assembly paper-based flexible composite electrode materials, were introduced.
Professor Nie Shuangxi of Guangxi University, entitled "Progress in Research and Application of Advanced Cellulose functional Materials", introduced the research progress and application prospect of advanced cellulose functional materials in energy collection and conversion, pulse direct current conversion, and water collection, and analyzed the research on molecular regulation, structural design, structure-activity relationship and other aspects of cellulose functional materials.
Professor Shen Wei of Monash University in Australia published a report entitled "Improvement Strategy of Paper-based analysis Device in colorimetric Performance and practical Application", summarizing the working principle of paper-based colorimetric analyzer (PADs) and the strategy of improving colorimetric performance and the design scheme of improving portability. In particular, the principle of controlling liquid-paper interaction based on PADs design to increase color saturation is discussed, and the image acquisition technology and image processing algorithm related to color accuracy and sensitivity are introduced in detail, which will help to develop and design PADs with higher sensitivity and portability.
Dr. Zhang Xue from China Pulp and Paper Research Institute published a report entitled "Research Progress on water Vapor barrier Properties of Paper-based materials". Starting from the multi-layered structure of paper-based materials, the transport mechanism of water vapor in the multi-layered structure of paper-based materials was introduced, and the difficulties of water vapor barrier were analyzed. The research progress of 3D internal structure control and surface structure modification to improve the water vapor barrier properties of paper based materials is introduced. The water vapor barrier properties of superhydrophobic paper based materials are evaluated.
