(2) Geothermal dual-medium cycle power generation system

The geothermal dual-working medium cycle power generation system is composed of geothermal fluid cycle and low-boiling working medium power generation cycle. It is a system that uses geothermal fluid to heat low-boiling working medium in heat exchanger, vaporizes it into steam, and then introduces it into expander to do work and power generation.

In this kind of power generation system, the medium with low boiling point usually uses two kinds of fluids; One is to use geothermal fluid as heat source; The other is to use low boiling point working fluid as a working medium to complete the conversion of thermal energy of underground hot water into mechanical energy. The so-called dual-cycle geothermal power generation system is thus named. Commonly used low boiling point working substances are chloroethane, n-butane, isobutane, freon-11, freon-12 and so on.

Advantages: High thermal efficiency using low temperature potential heat energy: compact equipment, small turbine size; It is easy to adapt to underground hot water with complex chemical composition.

Disadvantages: It is not as easy to use the hybrid evaporator and condenser as the expansion method; The heat transfer of most low-boiling working medium is worse than that of water, so a large metal heat transfer area is needed in this way. Low boiling point working medium price is high, the source is not wide, some low boiling point working medium also flammable, explosive, toxic, unstable, corrosion of metal and other characteristics.
