AB 1761 MicroLogix 1000 Programmable Controller

Product Overview: The MicroLogix 1000 programmable controllers are available in a variety of models with catalogue numbers that contain information such as power supply type, number of I/Os, output type, input signals, etc. For example, in 1761 - L16AWA, ‘1761’ is the bulletin number, ‘L’ is the base unit, ‘16’ is the number of I/O, ‘A’ is the number of 120/240V, ‘B’ is the number of I/O, and ‘A’ is the number of I/Os. ‘A’ denotes 120/240V ac power supply, “W” denotes relay output, and “A” denotes 120V ac input signal.


Mounting Guide: DIN rail or mounting screws are available for horizontal mounting. For DIN rail mounting, first fix the DIN rail so that the controller can be mounted at the required spacing, then hang the top slot on the DIN rail and press it into place, and keep the protective package before wiring is completed; when removing the controller, use a screwdriver to press the bottom snap button. 


For mounting with mounting screws, remove the mounting template and fix it on the mounting surface, remove the template after drilling and mount the controller, and also remove the protective package after wiring is completed. Vertical mounting, in order to ensure stability, it is recommended to use mounting screws, and the nameplate should be installed facing downwards, and pay attention to meet the required environmental specifications, such as temperature and shock requirements under different installation methods. In addition, grounding helps to reduce the effects of electromagnetic interference in solid-state control systems.

 

Connect the controller ground screw (third screw from the left of the output terminal block) to the ground bus, use the thickest wire that meets the requirements, and make sure that all connected devices are grounded or floated.

Wiring instructions: Input types are divided into sinking input (high level voltage enable) and sourcing input (low level voltage enable). When wiring, wire gauge requirements are #14 - #22 AWG for solid wire and #16 - #22 AWG for stranded wire, with a maximum of 2 wires per terminal screw. Specific AMP lugs are recommended, e.g., #53120-1 for 22 - 16 AWG wire, #53123-1 for 16 - 14 AWG wire. Be careful to avoid wire shavings from falling into the controller when stripping the wires, and remove the protective packaging after wiring to prevent the controller from overheating.


Specifications: 1K EEPROM memory containing approximately 737 command words and 437 data words. The power supply voltage is divided into two types: AC 85 - 264V ac and DC 20.4 - 26.4V dc, and the power consumption under different voltages varies from model to model. It has certain electrical performance indexes, such as electrostatic discharge in accordance with IEC801-2@8KV, radiation immunity in accordance with IEC801-3, fast transient in accordance with IEC801-4, and isolation voltage of 1500V ac, etc. It can also adapt to certain environmental conditions. Wiring Diagrams and Voltage Ranges: Detailed wiring diagrams are provided for each controller model, specifying the function and connection of each pin. It also explains the input voltage range and output voltage range of different controller models, for example, the input voltage range of 1761-L16AWA is 79-132Vac, and the output voltage range is 264V ac, 125V dc and so on.
