4.2 Lithium battery replacement - maintain RTC and CMOS data
The CR2032 button battery (3V/225mAh) on the motherboard is used for real-time clock and BIOS setting cache. Its position is adjacent to the CF card slot, and the replacement steps are similar to those of the CF card. It is recommended to replace it every 3-5 years or immediately when the system frequently resets. The battery ordering information is "Battery 3V/225mAh 2032 coin cell".
4.3 Replacement of Display Backlight Tube - Restoring Screen Brightness
TFT screen cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) are consumables with a lifespan typically ranging from 20000 to 50000 hours. When the screen becomes dark, flickering, or completely black but there is still an image (visible with a flashlight), the light tube needs to be replaced.
12 inch model (LTD121C30S): Use a small Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws (2) on the lamp bracket, and then carefully tilt the lamp and bracket (1) outward to remove them.
15 inch model (LQ150X1LW71N): Loosen the two fixing screws (1) and (2), and then pull out the lamp directly in the direction of the arrow.
The replacement lamp kit can be ordered through Beckhoff: C9900-L364 (12 inches) and C9900-L366 (15 inches). When replacing, be sure to disconnect the power supply first and avoid touching the glass surface of the lamp tube with bare hands (grease can affect its lifespan).
Attention: Replacement of 19 inch and certain special models of lamps requires deeper disassembly, and the manual recommends that it be operated by professional service personnel.
Keyboard and touch operation specifications
The membrane keyboard of CP77xx (if optional) is only allowed to be lightly touched with fingertips and cannot be operated with a screwdriver, stylus, or other sharp objects, as it may puncture the membrane and cause failure. Touch Screen can only be used with fingertips or the accompanying stylus, and if the operator wears gloves, they must ensure that the gloves do not contain metal debris or hard glass particles to avoid scratching the surface.
The keyboard features include standard QWERTY layout, cursor keys, function keys (F1~F10), and special application keys (whose functions are defined by software and their status is indicated by orange LEDs). The operation logic is consistent with the standard PC keyboard, such as Shift、Ctrl、Alt、Enter、Backspace、Del、Ins、Home、End、PgUp/PgDn、Esc Wait.

Electrical connection sequence and lightning protection measures
The manual emphasizes that all connection operations must follow the following sequence:
First, disconnect the power: unplug the X101 power plug.
Connect all data cables (serial port, Ethernet cable, USB, etc.) and tighten the threads or buckles of the connectors.
Finally, reconnect the power supply.
It is strictly prohibited to insert or remove any plug during thunderstorms to prevent damage to internal circuits caused by induced lightning strikes. In addition, if you need to disconnect the device, you must hold the plug body instead of pulling the cable to avoid damaging the core or terminals.
Common troubleshooting table
Based on the "Fault Correction" section of the manual and combined with on-site experience, the following is compiled:
Possible causes and solutions for the fault phenomenon
The whole machine has no response (black screen, no fan sound). The power supply is not connected or there is a power supply fault. Check the voltage of X101 terminal 1 (+24V) and 3 (GND); Confirm that the cable is not broken; Contact Beckhoff service if necessary
System can start but HMI software runs abnormally. Check PLC program and communication parameters for software configuration or external device issues; Contact machine manufacturers or software developers
The screen is dim or completely black, but you can vaguely see the image. The backlight tube is burnt out. Follow the above steps to replace the corresponding size of tube kit
Touch malfunction or drift, surface contamination or calibration loss. Clean the touch screen and run the touch calibration program again (Windows Control Panel)
Reset the system time every time the power is turned on, and replace the CR2032 battery when the motherboard battery is depleted
Frequent crashes or startup of blue screen CF card file system damage or card aging backup data, replace the CF card with a new one and reinstall the operating system and TwinCAT environment
Special reminder: Pixel defects (bright or dark spots) in TFT displays belong to the normal discreteness in the production process of LCD panels and do not constitute quality defects. They are not a reason for return or exchange.
Maintenance intervals and disposal of scrap
CP77xx does not require regular mechanical maintenance, but it is recommended to check the fastening status and sealing ring integrity of all external connectors once a year.
It is recommended to check the brightness of fluorescent tubes every 2 years and replace them if necessary.
When the equipment is scrapped, it must be disassembled and classified according to local electronic waste regulations - the aluminum shell can be recycled metal, and the circuit board, lamp tube (containing mercury), and battery need to be treated as hazardous waste and strictly prohibited from being discarded at will.
