Alarm and Event: Supports up to 1024 alarms and 256 event lists. Combined with a hardware RTC (real-time clock) with battery backup, it can accurately record the timestamp of device failures.
Security mechanism: Supports 8-level password protection. When replacing old equipment, it is easy to set access permissions for key process parameters (such as PID settings) to prevent unauthorized personnel from making mistakes.
Macro command editing: Built in keyboard macro editor, which can trigger specific logic controls through key actions to achieve simple local data processing.
On site replacement and common troubleshooting guide
After completing mechanical drilling and electrical wiring, engineers usually face the following types of problems that need to be investigated according to the following logic:
1. Black screen or no display when powered on
Troubleshooting: The power supply voltage requirement for the panel is 18 to 30 VDC (typical value 24V, maximum power consumption 0.25A). Firstly, measure the terminal voltage and confirm that the positive and negative poles are not reversed. If the power supply is normal, check if the screen contrast setting is set to the lowest (software adjustable); If the backlight is bright but there are no characters, it is usually because the configuration file has not been downloaded or the download is incomplete.
2. Communication unresponsive or data disordered
Troubleshooting: This is the most common fault in replacement engineering. Firstly, verify the communication parameters (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity bits) and check if the baud rate setting matches the old device (note: the baud rate of some old devices may not be the standard value). Secondly, if using RS-485/422, focus on checking whether the A/B or TX/RX wires are reversed due to aging old cables. Special attention: If two devices are connected at the same time, it is necessary to check whether the port allocation in the dual drive settings is correct to avoid bus conflicts.
3. Button failure or drift
Troubleshooting: ePAD uses thin film buttons, which are prone to aging or corrosion due to prolonged pressing. If a button completely malfunctions, it is usually necessary to replace the front panel film. In addition, check if the "slide in legend" plastic sheet of the button is installed properly. If there are foreign objects stuck, it can also cause the button to fail to rebound.
4. Data loss or time reset after power outage
Troubleshooting: The panel relies on an internal CR2430 (3V 270mA lithium manganese battery) to maintain the RTC clock and some user data during power outages. The battery is designed to be replaceable by the user. If the device frequently reports time errors or formula loss, it is necessary to replace the battery while the system is powered on to prevent data loss in an instant. When replacing, use batteries of the same model or compatible with the operating temperature to avoid leaking and damaging the motherboard.
5. Communication interruption caused by interference
Troubleshooting: As the panel is usually installed on the front panel of the equipment, it is very close to the frequency converter and high-power motor. If the communication line does not use twisted pair shielded wires, or if the shielding layer is not grounded at one end, it is highly susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI) that can cause errors in bus data frames. Strictly follow the EN 61000-6-2 (anti-interference) standard for wiring.
