Explosion proof and Grounding: This product has an Explosion proof design and has obtained CSA/UL and CE-ATEX certifications. Explosion proof flexible conduit and certified cable connectors must be used for wiring. The grounding terminal on the side of the valve body must be reliably connected to the equipotential ground of the cabinet with a yellow green wire not less than the diameter of the power supply wire. This is not only to prevent static electricity, but also to meet the mandatory safety regulations for explosion-proof electrical equipment.
3. NACE 2002 Material Compliance
All steel components of this valve comply with the NACE 2002 standard (for acidic oil and gas environments). In offshore platforms or chemical plants containing corrosive gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), replacement parts must be original factory products. It is strictly prohibited to use ordinary carbon steel or replacement valve bodies that have not undergone anti-corrosion treatment, otherwise hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) or stress corrosion cracking (SSC) is prone to occur.

Common fault diagnosis and on-site troubleshooting
Although Meggitt officially states that the valve does not require maintenance under normal conditions, problems such as aging of the electromagnetic coil and accumulation of impurities in the medium can still cause malfunctions with long-term operation. Due to the use of ANSI Class VI leakage standard (bubble level seal), once there is internal leakage, it is difficult to detect it externally by naked eye, and it needs to be judged by changes in system pressure.
1. Coil burnout or open circuit
Phenomenon: The upper computer sends an on/off command, but the valve does not move and there is no current measured at the electrical port.
Diagnosis: Use a multimeter to measure the coil resistance. If the resistance is infinite, it indicates that the enameled wire inside the coil has burned out due to overheating or overvoltage breakdown. The common causes of coil burnout are excessive voltage fluctuations in the on-site power supply or insulation aging caused by high ambient temperatures. When replacing, it is necessary to confirm that the explosion-proof certification level of the spare part model is consistent with the original design.
2. Valve jamming or slow action
Phenomenon: After the coil is powered on, an electromagnetic attraction sound can be heard inside, but the fluid in the pipeline still does not pass through, or the position switch is not triggered.
Diagnosis: With a pipeline pressure of up to 1500 psi, if the medium contains welding slag, metal debris, or residual sealing tape, it is highly likely to cause mechanical jamming at the valve seat. At this point, you can try repeatedly turning on and off the power, using the instantaneous vibration generated by electromagnetic force to try to flush out impurities. If it is ineffective, the entire pipeline system must be isolated and depressurized, and valves must be disassembled for cleaning. Warning: It is strictly prohibited to disassemble any fasteners or attempt to strike the valve body under pressure.
3. Position switch malfunction
Phenomenon: The system displays that the valve is open, but the actual fluid is not flowing, or the valve is closed but the feedback signal remains unchanged.
Diagnosis: For models C422425 or C422695, position switches typically use magnetic induction or micro switch principles. When troubleshooting, disconnect the power and use a multimeter to measure the on/off status of the switch. If the valve is in place but the contacts are not closed, it may be due to internal fatigue of the switch or magnet displacement. When adjusting the position of the switch in the explosion-proof chamber, it is necessary to strictly follow the safety operating procedures of "power-off opening".
The 'golden rule' for spare parts replacement
When faced with emergency procurement and replacement on site, engineers should establish a standardized verification process:
Check the nameplate: Confirm whether the original valve is normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC).
Interface: Confirm that both the inlet and outlet have 1/2-14 NPT internal threads, and verify the center distance (102 MM).
Check certification: Confirm whether the on-site environment requires NACE 2002 or specific ATEX explosion-proof zone levels (Zone 1/Zone 2).
Anti static: Before installing a new valve, measure the cross resistance between the valve body and the pipeline to ensure good grounding.
