ADLINK EOS-1200 is a reinforced embedded vision system designed specifically for high-resolution machine vision applications with multiple cameras, powered by second-generation/third-generation Intel ® Core ™ I5/i7 processors provide four independent Gigabit PoE (Power over Ethernet) interfaces, widely used in scenarios such as robot guidance, 3D vision inspection, and intelligent transportation. This article is based on the official technical manual and systematically outlines the complete process from hardware disassembly and assembly, operating system deployment, driver installation to BIOS optimization and common troubleshooting, helping engineers quickly complete on-site deployment and maintenance.
Hardware Overview and Installation Preparation
1.1 System size and environmental requirements
Dimensions: 230 mm (width) x 206 mm (depth) x 82 mm (height), weight approximately 3 kg.
Working temperature: 0 ° C to 55 ° C (with CFast or SSD), storage temperature: -40 ° C to 85 ° C (excluding storage media).
Humidity: Approximately 95% @ 40 ° C (no condensation).
Vibration tolerance: 5 Grms (5-500 Hz) under CFast, 3 Grms under SSD, and only 0.5 Grms under HDD. Special reinforcement is required for mechanical hard drives.

Core hardware disassembly and assembly steps
2.1 Memory Module Installation (DDR3 SO-DIMM)
The system provides two SO-DIMM slots, supporting DDR3 1066/1333/1600 MHz, with a maximum capacity of 8 GB.
Unscrew the two fixing screws on the bottom cover plate and remove the cover plate.
Insert the memory module into the slot at a 45 ° angle and press down until the two side clips are locked.
Cover the bottom cover and tighten the screws again.
Common problem: If the Diagnostic LED (yellow) on the front panel continues to flash after booting up, it indicates that no memory has been detected or there is poor memory contact. Please unplug or replace the module.
2.2 2.5-inch hard drive/solid-state drive replacement
The system has two built-in SATA interfaces (supporting RAID 0/1/5/10) and is compatible with 2.5-inch HDD/SSD.
After opening the bottom cover, unscrew the two screws that secure the hard drive bracket and slide it out.
Remove the four fixing screws from the old hard drive, replace it with a new one, and re fix it.
Push the bracket back to its original position and ensure that the SATA data and power interface are fully engaged.
Secure the bracket screws and reinstall the cover plate.
Indicator light: The front panel HDD LED (green) flashes to indicate SATA storage activity. If it is constantly on or abnormal, check the data cable connection.
2.3 USB dongle installation (security feature)
The internal dedicated USB 2.0 Type A interface (vertical motherboard) is used to insert software authorization encryption dongles.
Loosen the thumb screws on the top cover plate and remove the top cover.
Loosen the finger screws on the encryption dog fixed bracket base (pre installed on the motherboard) and slide the pressure plate upwards.
Insert the encryption dongle into the USB port, slide down the pressure plate to secure it, and then tighten the screw.
Reinstall the top cover.

Operating System Installation and AHCI Mode Configuration
EOS-1200 supports Windows XP/XP Embedded and Windows 7/7 Embedded. The following are the key configuration points.
3.1 AHCI Enabling in Windows XP
If you need to install XP in AHCI mode (instead of IDE compatibility mode):
Press Del to enter BIOS during startup, go to Advanced → SATA Configuration, and set SATA Mode to AHCI.
During installation, press F6 to load Intel ® Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI controller driver (floppy disk or USB drive needs to be prepared in advance).
If the system has been installed in IDE mode, the AHCI driver needs to be installed first before changing the BIOS mode, otherwise the blue screen will appear.
3.2 AHCI Switching under Windows 7 (Installed System)
If Win7 has been installed in IDE mode, you need to modify the registry before switching:
Run regedit and locate it to HKEYLOCAL_MACHINE System CurrentControlSet Services msahci.
Change the Start key value to 0.
Restart, enter BIOS to change SATA Mode to AHCI, save and exit.
After the system is started, the AHCI driver will be automatically installed and restarted again to complete the process.
3.3 Windows XP Embedded Standard Image
