Verification: After installation, the PCMe-1432 device node should be visible in the device manager, otherwise the DIO driver needs to be reinstalled.
BIOS Key Settings and Optimization
Some options in BIOS directly affect system stability and startup behavior, and require special attention.
5.1 Power Recovery Strategy (Restore on AC Power Loss)
Located in Advanced → Advanced Power Management, it offers three options:
Power Off: Keep turned off after power failure recovery (suitable for unmanned scenarios that require manual confirmation).
Power On: Automatically power on after recovery (recommended for remote sites).
Last State: Restore to the state before power failure (if previously running, turn on; if turned off, keep turned off).
5.2 System Watchdog
On the advanced power management page, once enabled, the startup process can be monitored during the POST phase. If the boot fails, it will automatically reset to avoid system freezing.
5.3 SATA Mode Selection
IDE Mode: Compatible with old systems (XP without AHCI driver).
AHCI Mode: Enable NCQ and hot plug (recommended for Win7 and above).
RAID Mode: Supports RAID 0/1/5/10 (requires at least two hard drives).
5.4 Serial Port Mode Configuration (Super I/O Configuration)
COM1 and COM2 can be software programmed as RS-232/422/485 and switched through the Type option under Serial Port 1 Configuration in the BIOS. COM3/COM4 only supports RS-232.
5.5 Clear CMOS and ME RTC registers
When the system cannot boot or BIOS settings are disrupted, short circuit the jumper on the motherboard:
JP1 (Clear CMOS): Short circuit Pin1-Pin2 and remove the jumper cap to restore the factory default settings.
JP2 (ME RTC): This is RMA specific and is not recommended for user operation as it may cause system abnormalities.

Digital I/O and PoE Intelligent Control
6.1 16 way isolated digital I/O (rear DB37)
Input: 16 channels, 0-24 VDC, input resistance 2.4 k Ω, isolation voltage 2500 Vrms.
Output: 16 channels, Darlington transistors, maximum current of 500 mA per group of 8 channels (DO0-7 and DO8-15 respectively).
Interrupt: DI0-DI15 can all serve as COS (Change of State) interrupt sources.
Reduce high voltage input current: When the input voltage is higher than 5 V, an external resistor Rs can be connected in series to limit the forward current to around 5 mA. For example, when the input voltage is 24V, the total current limiting resistance should be (24V -0.5V)/5mA=4.7 k Ω. Subtracting the internal 2.4 k Ω, the external should be connected in series with approximately 2.3 k Ω.
6.2 Intelligent PoE (four-way 802.3af)
Each channel has a maximum output of 8 W (a total of 32 W) and supports 48 V power supply.
The software API SmartPoE_Setup Power (Port, Mode) can manually turn off/on the power supply:
Mode=0: Disable power supply;
Mode=1: Automatic detection and power supply (default).
The four LEDs (0-3) on the front panel indicate the activity status of each port.
6.3 EEPROM and Internal USB
Provide 1 Kbit programmable EEPROM (addresses 0-255) for storing authorization information or configuration parameters.
The internal USB port is designed specifically for encryption dongles and supports copyright protection.
Common troubleshooting and interpretation of indicator lights
7.1 Front panel LED status table
Meaning of LED color status
Diagnostic yellow constantly on: No physical storage detected (no HDD/SSD/CFast);
Flashing: SO-DIMM slot without installed memory
HDD green flashing: SATA storage is reading and writing;
Constant extinction: no activity or unrecognized
PoE ports 0-3 green light up: corresponding PoE ports are connected and powered on
7.2 Emergency Response for System Failure to Start
Check if the power input is 9-32 VDC (plug definition: right side V -, middle chassis ground, left side V+).
Confirm if the blue LED lights up after pressing the power switch. If you press and hold for 5 seconds, it will force a power outage.
If there is still no display, try clearing CMOS (JP1) to restore the default BIOS.
Remove all peripherals (USB, serial port, Ethernet cable, etc.) to minimize startup testing.
7.3 Serial Communication Abnormalities
Confirm that the COM1/COM2 mode in BIOS matches the external device (232/422/485).
Check the pin definitions of the DB-62P adapter cable (Table 1-10 in the manual) to ensure correct TX/RX cross connections.
7.4 PoE power supply failure
Use SmartPoE_Setup Power to query the current mode. If it is 0, reset it to 1.
