System Overview and Application Scenarios
The DECS-300 Digital Excitation Control System launched by Basler Electric is a microprocessor based generator power management device suitable for excitation control of synchronous generators of various capacities, covering two application modes: excitation machine magnetic field and main generator magnetic field. The core value of this system lies in providing highly flexible excitation optimization solutions for generator sets under different operating conditions through programmable system parameters and adjustment settings.
The DECS-300 adopts a standard 19 inch rack mounting structure, with a height of 3 rack units (5.25 inches), and supports panel mounting (with optional decorative panels). Its working temperature range is as wide as -40 to+60 ℃. Although the front screen LCD cannot display below -20 ℃, the control system can still work normally and is suitable for harsh industrial environments.
Compared with other excitation controllers on the market, the outstanding advantage of DECS-300 lies in its multi-mode control architecture and redundant design support - it can provide dual PID stable setting groups, dual preset positions, and automatic tracking and disturbance free switching between the main/backup DECS-300 units, which is crucial for the continuous operation of critical power generation facilities.
Core technical specifications
2.1 Control mode and adjustment accuracy
DECS-300 provides four control modes that can flexibly respond to different operating conditions:
AVR mode (automatic voltage regulation): The voltage regulation accuracy is ± 0.25% (under rated power factor and constant frequency conditions), the steady-state stability is ± 0.1%, the temperature drift is ± 0.5% (within the range of 0-50 ℃), and the response time is less than one cycle.
FCR mode (magnetic field current regulation, i.e. manual mode): The adjustment accuracy is ± 1.0% (within the range of 10% change in bridge input voltage or 20% change in magnetic field resistance), suitable for backup control when AVR mode fails.
VAR mode (reactive power regulation): The regulation accuracy is ± 2.0% of the rated apparent power.
PF mode (power factor adjustment): The adjustment accuracy is ± 0.02 power factor (active power within the range of 10%~100%).
2.2 Analog and switch interface
Analog input: generator voltage (single-phase or three-phase, 120V/240V two levels optional), bus voltage (single-phase), generator current (two channels, 1A/5A optional), accessory input (-10~+10Vdc or 4~20mA, used for remote setpoint control, such as power system stabilizer PSS signal).
Analog output: Bridge control signal (0~+10Vdc, ± 10Vdc, or 4~20mA).
Switch input: 13 channels (start, stop, standby enable, grid/single machine switching, AVR/FCR selection, VAR/PF enable, up/down command, preset position selection, PID group selection, alarm reset, etc.).
Switching output: 8 relays (including 4 programmable, contact capacity: continuous 7A, 0.2-second 30A).
2.3 Protection and restriction functions
DECS-300 integrates a comprehensive matrix of protection and restriction functions:
Magnetic field overvoltage protection (adjustable from 1~900Vdc, with a delay of 0.2~30s)
Magnetic field overcurrent protection (adjustable from 0.1 to 9999Adc, with inverse time characteristics, in compliance with ANSI C50.13 standard)
Generator overvoltage/undervoltage protection (adjustable from 0 to 30kVac)
Demagnetization protection (40Q function, adjustable from 0 to 3000Mvar)
Over excitation limit (OEL): Provides two styles of summation point and takeover, suitable for grid connected and off grid conditions respectively
Underexcitation Limit (UEL): Supports built-in curves or user-defined five point curves
Stator current limit (SCL)
V/Hz Limitation and Underfrequency Compensation
