4. No signal output from DisplayPort

Confirm that the monitor supports DP++: The DP port of C6030-0080 is a pure digital signal. If a passive adapter cable is used to connect to HDMI, an active converter may be required. The official recommendation is to use C9900-Z468 for DVI.

Multi monitor configuration: In Windows systems, the desktop can only be extended when both monitors are detected. Go to BIOS>Video>Multi Monitor and set it to Enabled.

5. Insufficient storage space or SSD lifespan alarm

Clean up logs: TwinCAT's historical alarm and variable record files may grow rapidly, set automatic archiving or limit file size.

Upgrading SSD: When replacing with a larger capacity SSD using Raid 1, it is necessary to first rebuild the image in TwinCAT/BSD or Windows. Note that C9900-H842 (1280 GB) is only compatible with C603x-0080 and C6040.

Comparison of Replacement with C6015 and Competitors

Many on-site engineers are facing issues with the gradual discontinuation or insufficient performance of C6015 (based on 6th/7th generation Intel processors). C6030-0080 can be used as a direct alternative, but the following differences should be noted:

Size change: C6015 has a smaller size (approximately 82 x 82 x 40 mm), while C6030-0080 has a volume approximately 2.5 times larger, requiring a re planning of the control cabinet space.

Performance improvement: The C6015 can only achieve a maximum of Core i7-6600U (dual core quad threaded), while the C6030-0080 can choose an eight core i7-11850HE, resulting in a multi-core performance improvement of over 400%.

Interface upgrade: C6015 only has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, while C6030-0080 provides 3 2.5 GbE+1 GbE ports, suitable for connecting EtherCAT, OPC UA, and remote maintenance networks simultaneously.

Installation method: C6015 mainly supports DIN rails, C6030-0080 focuses more on side/rear wall installation, but can be converted into rails through accessories.

If the existing project uses shutdown control modules from other brands such as Woodward or Honeywell, C6030-0080 paired with TwinCAT can simulate multiple PLC protocols (via EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or Modbus TCP gateway) to achieve smooth migration.

Maintenance and long-term availability

The motherboard of C6030-0080 is developed and produced by Beckhoff, and key components such as M.2 SSD provide extended temperature levels (-40~85 ℃) to ensure data integrity in harsh environments.
