Signal interface configuration
1. Dual Gigabit Ethernet (X103, X104)
RJ45 interface supports 100/1000Mbps adaptive, with a maximum line length of 100m. LED indication:
Green light constantly on: link established; Green light flashing: data transmission and reception.
Orange light (100M) or green light (1000M): indicates the current speed.
The i210 controller has good real-time optimization for EtherCAT and is suitable as a master or slave interface for motion control.
2. USB interface (X105-X108)
-0050:4 USB 2.0, maximum 500mA per channel, electronic protection.
-0060: X107 and X108 are USB 3.0 (blue), X105 and X106 are USB 2.0.
3. DVI interface (X109)
Only transmitting digital signals, can be connected to a second DVI monitor for dual screen expansion.
Status indicator light and 1-second UPS
1. Tri color status LED (FB, HDD, PWR)
FB (Field Bus):
Red constantly on: TwinCAT Stop
Blue constantly on: TwinCAT Config
Green constantly on: TwinCAT Run
Red/blue or red/green flashing: corresponding status accompanied by fieldbus error.
HDD (red): Always on indicates that the storage medium is being accessed.
PWR (green): Constant light indicates that the PC has been powered on.
2. Capacitive 1-second UPS (option C9900-U214)
When the external 24V drops, the built-in supercapacitor can maintain power supply to the processor for several seconds, enough for TwinCAT to save up to 1MB of persistent data to the storage medium. This feature needs to be controlled through the function block FB_S-UPS_SAPI and only supports Windows Embedded Compact 7/Standard 7 or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Attention: This UPS is only used to store critical data and cannot be used as an uninterruptible power supply.

Debugging and Beckhoff Device Manager Security Configuration
When powered on for the first time, the pre installed operating system automatically starts, and the Beckhoff Device Manager will pop up the Security Wizard, forcing the modification of the default password (factory username: Administrator, password: 1). Be sure to set a strong password (at least 10 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters) and change it regularly. Device Manager supports remote configuration through local browser access to localhost/config, including network, storage, peripherals, etc.
If the device is not pre installed with an operating system, you need to install and load the corresponding drivers (Intel chipset, network card, USB, etc.) by yourself.
Maintenance and replacement of vulnerable parts
1. Cleaning standards
Allow: Dip a soft cloth in a small amount of glass cleaner, benzene, or alcohol.
Prohibited: Compressed air, steam, high-pressure water, abrasives, metal scraper.
Cleaning mode: Use Beckhoff Display Control Tool to enable "Cleaning Mode" (taskbar sun icon), lock touch for 5-120 seconds to prevent accidental touch.
2. Suggestions for regular replacement of components (based on operating conditions)
Recommended replacement cycle for components
UPS battery pack (supercapacitor) for 5 years
2.5-inch mechanical hard drive for 5 years or 20000 hours at>40 ° C/30000 hours at<40 ° C
Fan for 7 years
CFast/SSD/CF card for 10 years
Motherboard battery (CR2032) 5 years
3. Replace the motherboard battery (CR2032)
The battery is located under the bottom cover plate (loosen two M3 screws), use pointed nose pliers to pull out the old battery, and insert the new battery with the negative pole facing up (positive pole facing down). After replacement, the BIOS time needs to be reset.
4. Replace the CFast storage card
Also located under the bottom cover plate, using a push push mechanism:
Lightly press the CFast card, and it will automatically pop out. Pinch and pull it out.
Insert the new card and press it fully into place.
Before replacement, it is necessary to use Beckhoff Service Tool (BST) to create a system image or contact Beckhoff to obtain an original factory image (with a valid Windows license). Without backup, old card data cannot be restored.

TwinCAT version compatibility
To ensure optimal performance, please follow the minimum hardware version requirements:
-0050: TwinCAT 2.11 build 2254 or TwinCAT 3.1 build 4020.0 (or higher).
-0060: TwinCAT 3.1 build 4024.7 (or higher).
Using older versions of TwinCAT may not recognize certain chipsets or cause EtherCAT communication abnormalities.
Quick Troubleshooting Checklist
Possible causes and measures for handling the phenomenon
Completely unresponsive power supply not connected or voltage<22V Check 24V input, measure X101 Pin3-Pin4 voltage
After power on, do not boot (black screen) BIOS settings error. Press Del to enter BIOS and load default settings (Load Optimized Defaults)
System startup but touch failure, poor grounding or dirty screen, check PE connection; Clean the edges of the screen; Run touch calibration
TwinCAT reports error through USB communication. The cycle time is too short. Adjust the cycle time to 50~80ms in TwinCAT
Time and date frequently reset, motherboard battery exhausted, replace CR2032 battery
Contact Beckhoff Service for sudden black screen backlight tube malfunction (non LED) or power fluctuation during system operation (backlight cannot be replaced on site)
