HONEYWELL INTELLIKNIGHT ® MODEL 5700 Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel

IntelliKnight 5700 is an addressable fire alarm control panel that integrates fire alarm control, remote alarm communication, and release system control. 1. Core hardware features

Single signal line circuit (SLC): supports 50 SK series detectors and 50 SK series modules, or 50 SD series detectors and modules (the two cannot be mixed)

Output power: Provides 2 sets of notification device circuits (NAC) with a total output power of 2.5A (power limited), programmable as notification output or auxiliary power supply

Built in communicator: Dual telephone line digital alarm communicator/transmitter (DACT), supports reporting events to the central station (by point or by area)

Relay output: 2 universal Form C programmable relays, 1 dedicated fault relay (Form C)

Scalability: Supports up to 8 5860 remote alarms, 8 intelligent power modules (5895XL or 5496 in any combination), 8 LED modules (5865-3/5865-4/5880)

User Management: Supports up to 20 user profiles, each with customizable access codes and permissions

JumpStart: The system scans SLC loop devices, automatically identifies device types, and assigns default configurations

System Architecture and Bus Technology

The 5700 control panel adopts a modular bus architecture, mainly including signal line circuits (SLC) and auxiliary buses (SBUS).

1. Signal Line Circuit (SLC)

The SLC loop is used to connect addressable detectors and modules. The system supports two protocols, and users must choose one in programming, which cannot be mixed:

SK protocol: supports 50 detectors and 50 modules (a total of 100 devices), with device addresses set through a rotary dip switch

SD protocol: Supports 50 detectors and modules (a total of 50 devices), with detector addresses set through panel programming and module addresses set through DIP switches

SLC wiring specifications:

SK equipment: maximum loop resistance of 40 Ω, maximum distance depends on wire specifications (maximum 1200 feet for 22AWG, maximum 7900 feet for 14AWG)

SD equipment: maximum loop resistance 50 Ω, 22AWG maximum 1500 feet, 14AWG maximum 10000 feet

T-tap wiring: The total length of all branches shall not exceed 40000 feet

Class A (Style 6/7) configuration: T-tap is not allowed, SLC input and output form a closed loop

2. Auxiliary Bus (SBUS)

SBUS is used to connect system expansion modules, including remote alarm (5860), LED alarm (5865-3/5865-4), LED driver module (5880), serial/parallel interface module (5824), intelligent power module (5496, 5895XL), etc.

SBUS wiring distance: The maximum total current is 1A, and the distance depends on the wire gauge and total current. For example, under a total current of 0.395A:

22AWG maximum 370 feet

18AWG maximum 938 feet

16AWG maximum 1493 feet

14AWG maximum 2362 feet
