HONEYWELL Sensepoint XCD gas detector: one-stop gas monitoring solution

In the field of industrial safety and environmental monitoring, the reliability, ease of operation, and maintenance cost of gas detection equipment have always been the core concerns of users. Product positioning: One stop gas monitoring platform

The Sensepoint XCD series products aim to provide users with a "one-stop" gas monitoring experience, covering three detection needs: combustible gases (catalytic combustion or infrared), toxic gases, and oxygen. They are suitable for new construction projects and old system renovations, and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The core design concept is reflected in the following aspects:

Unified platform and diversified configuration: the general transmitter platform is adopted, and the monitoring of multiple target gases can be realized by replacing different sensor probes, which greatly reduces the spare parts inventory and training costs.

Durable and sturdy casing: offers two explosion-proof casing options: aluminum alloy (LM25) and 316 stainless steel, suitable for different corrosive environments. The IP66 protection level ensures reliable operation of the equipment even in harsh weather conditions.

Global Compliance: The product complies with international and regional standards such as UL, INMETRO, ATEX, IECEx, CSA, KTL, PA, GB, and CCCF, and can be safely used worldwide.


Core sensing technology: reliable, accurate, and long-lasting

Sensepoint XCD supports three mainstream sensing technologies, and users can flexibly choose according to the target gas and application environment:

1. Catalytic combustion sensor (Catalytic Beam)

Applicable gases: common combustible gases such as methane and propane

Range: 0-100% LEL

Features: Anti poisoning design, improving stability in environments containing silicon, sulfur, chlorine, etc

Typical lifespan: 36 months (may be shortened due to toxic effects)

2. Infrared Absorption Sensor (NDIR)

Applicable gases: hydrocarbons such as methane, propane, and carbon dioxide

Range: 0-100% LEL or 0-100% Vol (depending on the gas), carbon dioxide range is 0-2% Vol

Features: Not affected by silicide and sulfide poisoning, does not require oxygen participation, suitable for inert environments

Typical lifespan: Over 5 years

3. Electrochemical sensors

Applicable gases: carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H ₂ S), hydrogen (H ₂), oxygen (O ₂)

Range: CO is 100-1000ppm, H ₂ S is 10-100ppm, H ₂ is 1000ppm, O ₂ is 25% Vol

Sensor family and automatic recognition

Sensepoint XCD transmitters are divided into three types, corresponding to different sensor families:

MV type transmitter: used for catalytic combustion and infrared sensors

EC type transmitter: used for electrochemical toxic gas sensors

Oxygen type transmitter: specifically designed for oxygen sensors

The transmitter can automatically identify the sensor probes within its family, and after insertion, automatically configure the range, gas type, and calibration parameters without manual intervention, greatly simplifying the on-site replacement and configuration process.


Intuitive status indication: Three color backlit LCD

The Sensepoint XCD is equipped with a large-sized three color backlit LCD display screen, using "traffic light" color coding to make the device status clear at a glance:

Green constantly on: normal operation

Yellow flashing: Fault or warning

Red flashing: gas alarm

The display screen simultaneously provides information such as digital readings, bar charts, gas types, range units, and alarm status. Even in distant or dimly lit environments, users can quickly determine the status of the detector, making it particularly suitable for scenarios where multiple devices are concentrated or installed in difficult to access locations.

Non invasive operation: convenient maintenance of magnetic rod drive

One of the most innovative designs of Sensepoint XCD is its non-invasive operating interface. Users only need to use a magnetic wand to touch the three sensing areas outside the transmitter glass window to complete configuration, calibration, status inquiry, and other operations without opening the device casing.
