Functional Description

The EC7850A1080 executes a pre-programmed combustion control sequence that automatically manages the burner startup, operation, and shutdown process. Upon receiving a call for heat, the controller initiates the prepurge period to clear the combustion chamber of any residual fuel vapors. Following the prepurge, the ignition sequence energizes the spark igniter and opens the pilot fuel valve. Once the flame detector confirms pilot flame establishment, the main fuel valve opens and the igniter is de-energized. During normal operation, the controller continuously monitors flame presence and modulates the fuel input based on the PID control algorithm. If a flame failure is detected or any self-diagnostic test indicates a fault condition, the controller initiates a safety shutdown, closing all fuel valves and activating the appropriate alarm outputs.
