Interface configuration and wiring specifications
The interface configuration of XV-102 depends on the specific model (distinguished by the "L3/L4/L5/L6" in the order number). All models come standard with one Ethernet port and one USB Host port. Optional interfaces include RS-232, RS-485, and CAN.
4.1 USB interface
Type: USB 2.0 Host, A-port, not isolated
Output capacity: 500 mA (full power)
Usage: Only used for maintenance work (such as uploading/downloading programs, data backup), not recommended for long-term connection of commercial peripherals in industrial sites (their EMC immunity may be insufficient)
Cable: Shielded cable, maximum length 5 meters
4.2 Ethernet interface
RJ45, 8 needles, CAT5e/6,10/100 Mbps
LED indicator light: green constant light indicates LINK has been established, yellow flashing indicates data transmission
Shielded twisted pair (STP) must be used
Mechanical protection: Avoid strong vibration or pulling on the RJ45 plug, otherwise it may damage the connector or affect communication
4.3 RS-232 serial port (COM1)
Interface: 9-pin SUB-D male, non isolated, UNC nut for locking
The relationship between maximum baud rate and line length:
2.5 m → 115200 bit/s
5 m → 57600 bit/s
10 m → 38400 bit/s
15 m → 19200 bit/s
30 m → 9600 bit/s
Shielded cables must be used, and the shielding layer should be connected to the connector housing with low impedance
4.4 RS-485 serial port (COM2)
Interface: 9-pin SUB-D male, not isolated
Characteristic impedance: 120 Ω (allowing 108~132 Ω)
Maximum line length: 1200 meters
Supporting baud rates: 9600/19200/38400/57600/115200 bit/s
Bus topology: Each segment can have up to 32 nodes, and each end must be connected to a 120 Ω terminal resistor (between pins 3 and 7). No more than two terminal resistances are allowed. The use of repeaters can expand the number of nodes and line length.
Shielded twisted pair cables should also be used, with the shielding layer grounded.
4.5 CAN interface
Interface: 9-pin SUB-D male, non isolated, in compliance with CiA standards
Pin allocation: Pin 2 (CAN_L), Pin 7 (CAN_S), Pin 3 and Pin 6 are interconnected internally (CAN-GND and GND)
Cable requirements:
Impedance 120 Ω (108~132 Ω)
Capacitance<60 pF/m
The wire diameter is selected according to the wire length: 100m → 0.25 mm ², 250m → 0.34 mm ², 500m → 0.75 mm ²
Maximum baud rate and line length:
25 m → 1000 kbit/s
50 m → 800 kbit/s
100 m → 500 kbit/s
250 m → 250 kbit/s
500 m → 125 kbit/s (can also be set to 100 kbit/s by software)
1000 m → 50 kbit/s
2500 m → 20 kbit/s
5000 m → 10 kbit/s
Both ends of the bus must be connected with 120 Ω terminal resistors (between pins 2 and 7). No external device power supply is provided.
4.6 Cable Shielding and EMC
To meet the EMC requirements of industrial environments, all communication cables must use shielded cables. Separate ferrite magnetic rings (such as Wirth STAR-RING or STAR-GAP) can be installed within 20 cm of the device connector to further suppress interference. In addition, all screws or clips of plug-in connectors should be tightened to improve shielding continuity.

The Use and Data Protection of SD Cards
XV-102 provides an SD/SDHC card slot (compliant with SDA 2.0 specifications). SD cards can be used for extended storage or data recording.
5.1 Insertion and Removal
Insert: Push the SD card into the slot until you hear a "click" lock sound. The card has anti reverse insertion design, do not forcefully insert it.
Remove: Push inward until the card pops out, then pull it out. The SD card must be inserted or removed when the device is powered off, otherwise it may result in data loss or card damage.
5.2 Data Protection Precautions
The write life of the internal memory, SD card, and USB flash drive of the device is limited, and frequent small data write operations should be avoided.
If a voltage drop occurs during the writing process, it is highly likely to cause file system damage or data loss. Therefore, before turning off the device power, ensure that no program is performing write operations on the SD card.
Common faults and solutions
The following table summarizes the most common fault phenomena and troubleshooting strategies of XV-102 during on-site use:
Possible causes and solutions for the fault phenomenon
The device cannot start (black screen) without 24V power supply. Check the input wiring and measure the power supply voltage; Confirm that the power switch is closed
Touch without response or inaccurate response, touch not calibrated; Touch function disabled, enter system settings to recalibrate touch screen; Check the touch enable options in the software
Communication failure (RS-485/CAN) missing terminal resistance; Cable too long or impedance mismatch; Confirm that a 120 Ω resistor has been connected to both ends of the bus due to poor shielding grounding; Check if the wire length exceeds the specifications; Use shielded cables and ground them correctly
The Ethernet LINK light is not on, and the network cable is disconnected or has poor contact; The other party's device has not been powered on to replace the network cable; Check the power supply of the switch or PLC
SD card cannot recognize card format and is not supported; poor contact; Card damage using FAT32 format; Re plug and unplug; Replace genuine SD/SDHC card
