HONEYWELL Series 61 and Series 62 Modutrol IV™ Motors

The Modutrol IV series 61 and 62 motors support multiple power supply methods, and users can choose to use built-in transformers or external 24V power supply. The typical power consumption is as follows:

The built-in transformer model (such as 50017460-001) supports 24/120/230V multi voltage input and outputs 24V to the motor control circuit, greatly improving on-site adaptability.

2. Control mode

Adopting three wire floating point control (Series 60), three states of "forward rotation hold reverse" are achieved through the combination of R-W/R-1 and R-B/R-2 terminals. The Series 62 model has added a feedback potentiometer to the control system, which can transmit real-time axis position information to the controller.

3. Torque and timing characteristics

The torque level is closely related to the timing, as follows:

It should be noted that the "breakaway torque" is the instantaneous maximum torque and is only used to overcome occasional stuck loads. Continuous operation under this condition is strictly prohibited.


Mechanical structure and installation requirements

1. Axle end load capacity

Single end maximum load: 200 lb (90.8 kg)

Maximum combined load: 300 lb (136 kg)

2. Environmental adaptability

Maximum ambient temperature: 150 ° F (66 ° C), suitable for 25% duty cycle

Minimum ambient temperature: -40 ° F (-40 ° C)

Protection level: compatible with liquid tight conduit joints, junction box meets NEMA 3 requirements

3. Installation precautions

The motor must be installed horizontally, and the output shaft should be kept in a horizontal direction

It is strictly prohibited to manually or forcefully rotate the motor shaft with the help of tools, otherwise it will damage the gear set and travel limit contact points

If installation is required in a non vertical position outdoors, a 4074ERU waterproof kit must be added

In high salt spray environments, the installation base and screws should be made of galvanized or cadmium plated materials, avoiding the use of stainless steel or brass

4. Adaptation bracket usage

220738A adapter bracket: can raise the motor shaft by 0.75 inches (19 mm) to match the shaft height of the old Modutrol motor

Applicable scenarios: Q607 external auxiliary switch, all damper linkages, valve linkages except Q5001

Travel adjustment and auxiliary switch setting

1. Travel Adjustment (Series 61)

The travel potentiometer is located on the left side of the motor power end

Clockwise rotation to maximum: 160 ° stroke

Rotate counterclockwise to minimum: 90 ° stroke

The middle position can achieve any travel setting between 90 ° and 160 °

2. Travel Adjustment (Series 62)

The travel potentiometer and sensitivity potentiometer need to be adjusted synchronously

Both clockwise: 160 ° stroke

Both counterclockwise: 90 ° stroke

3. Auxiliary switch adjustment

The auxiliary switch is driven by a cam, which can be set to a 1 ° or 10 ° action difference

When adjusting, use a 1/8 inch straight screwdriver to rotate the cam slot by slot, avoiding the use of force

The action relationship between switch contacts R-B and R-W varies with the difference setting and needs to be verified according to the actual control logic

Typical application scenarios

Variable air volume system: Control the opening of the air valve in the VAV box to achieve precise temperature regulation in the area.

Fan coil unit and air handling unit: cooperate with water valve actuator to regulate the flow of cold and hot water.

Industrial ventilation system: Drive large-sized dampers in smoke exhaust or fresh air systems.

Safety priority application: The spring reset model automatically restores the valve or damper to a safe position when power is cut off.

Slave control system: Series 62 serves as the main motor and synchronously controls multiple Series 90 slave motors through feedback potentiometers and shunt resistors.
