Troubleshooting Path

One of the common problems on site is accidental movement or axis sinking of the robot. Possible reasons include failure to input or incorrect load data, brake defects, loose installation base, external force collision, and balance system issues. It should be checked whether the load is consistent with KUKA Load, whether the flange load exceeds the limit, whether the base bolts are 195 Nm, whether the locating pin is damaged, and whether the motor and brake are abnormal. The second issue is whether the stopping distance becomes longer or stops abnormally. Should check STOP 0 times POV、 Measure the stopping distance at least annually based on the load mass, axis motion superposition, and brake wear. The third issue is that the flange or tool is abnormal. The tool stiffness, load center of gravity, moment of inertia, flange engagement depth, and bolt grade should be checked. The fourth issue is the foundation problem. The concrete grade, anchor bolts, floor level, leveling materials, edge reinforcement, and bolt torque should be checked. The fifth issue is a cable or interface failure. Bending radius, locking, grounding, equipotential, EMC separation, trunking, and tripping risk should be checked. The sixth issue is maintenance deficiency. A2/A3/A5 cover plate lubrication, A5 toothed belt, A1/A2 gearbox oil, oil temperature and leakage should be checked. Question seven is a safety circuit or mode issue. It should be checked whether T1/T2, emergency stop, teaching pendant, external keyboard and mouse, safety door, protective device, and default password have been modified. Question eight is about condensation or temperature. Wait for the temperature of the control cabinet to adapt to the environment, preheat during low-temperature operation, and avoid frost and condensation. The ninth issue is that it cannot operate safely after a collision. After colliding with obstacles, terminal stops, or axle restrictions, the operation must be stopped and KUKA consulted. The tenth issue is the inspection of pressure equipment in the balance system. Implement according to domestic regulations and KUKA maintenance cycle.


Maintenance, discontinuation, and storage of waste

Repairs can only perform tasks described in the documentation and KUKA Xpert service information, and beyond the scope, they must be carried out by KUKA training personnel. KUKA supports informing potential contamination or danger before maintenance, otherwise warranty and claims will be invalidated. When stopping the ground installation robot, first move the robot to the transport position, trigger an emergency stop, remove the tools and equipment, and turn off the robot. Disconnect the peripheral connections, motor cables, and data cables, remove the grounding wire nut, washer, and locking washer, and pull out the grounding wire. Install the lifting device, remove 4 M16x50-12.9 hex screws and washers, and lift them vertically with a crane without damaging the two locating pins. If the robot gets stuck on the installation surface, it may suddenly detach and the fastening material and adhesive must be completely removed. The storage location should be dry and dust-free, avoiding temperature fluctuations, wind, condensation, and direct sunlight, maintaining an allowable temperature range, and the packaging film should not be damaged. Shut down the robot during cleaning, if necessary, close adjacent systems and lock them, remove the casing, clean, completely remove cleaning agents, re corrode corroded areas, restore safety equipment and casing. Preparation for storage: visual inspection, removal of foreign objects and corrosion, installation of all cover plates and inspection of sealing, sealing of electrical connections and hose connections, covering with plastic film and dust-proof at the base, and placing desiccants if necessary. When discarded, they are classified according to materials: cast aluminum turntable and base, magnesium alloy arm, connecting rod arm, wrist, copper cable wires, steel gears, screws, washers, electronic components such as RDC and EDS are not disassembled as electrical waste, motors are not disassembled and discarded, plastic shell cover plate, NBR shaft seal O-ring, PU hose, PUR cable sheath.
