Omron CP1E-N60DR-D PLC CPU 36 Input 24 Output
The Omron CP1E-N60DR-D is a compact programmable logic controller from the CP1E series. It features 36 digital inputs (24V DC) and 24 relay outputs (2A, 250V AC). The CPU is powered by 24V DC and includes built-in USB and RS-232C ports. It is designed for small to medium-scale standalone machine control, offering high performance and ease of programming with Omron CX-Programmer software.
CPU Performance
The CP1E uses a 32-bit RISC processor with a basic instruction execution time of 0.44 µs (LD). Program memory: 32K steps (flash, no battery required). Data memory: 32K words (D registers), 16K words retentive (battery optional). The CPU supports up to 2 function blocks and 64 PID loops. Real-time clock (RTC) with 10-day battery backup (CR2032).
Input Specifications (36 points)
Input voltage: 24V DC (20.4–26.4V). Input current: 4.1 mA typical. Response time: 0.5–70 ms (programmable). Inputs are grouped into 4 commons (8–10 points per common). LED indicators per input. High-speed counters: 2 channels (50 kHz) for encoder input.
Output Specifications (24 relay points)
Output type: mechanical relays (SPST-NO). Contact rating: 2A at 250V AC (resistive), 2A at 24V DC. Minimum load: 10 mA at 5V DC. Relay life: 10 million mechanical, 100,000 electrical at rated load. Outputs are grouped into 3 commons (8 points per common). LED per output. The relays are replaceable as a block (optional relay block kit).
Communication Ports
USB 2.0 (mini-B) for programming and monitoring (12 Mbps).
RS-232C (9-pin D-sub) for connection to HMIs, serial printers, or Modbus RTU.
Optional RS-485 (CP1W-CIF11) can be added to the left side expansion slot.
Expansion Capabilities
The CP1E-N60DR-D can connect up to 3 CP1W expansion I/O modules (digital, analog, temperature, or CompoBus/S slave). Maximum total I/O: 120 points. The CPU also supports up to 3 CPM1A expansion units (via adapter). Analog expansion includes 4‑channel AD and 2‑channel DA.
Built-in Functions
2 high-speed counters (50 kHz each, 32-bit).
2 pulse outputs (PWM, 100 Hz–10 kHz) for simple stepper control.
PID auto-tuning (with self-tuning).
Interrupt inputs (4 points, 0.5 ms response).
Power Supply
Supply voltage: 24V DC (20.4–28.8V). Power consumption: 20 W typical (including internal 5V for I/O). The CPU provides a 24V DC sensor supply (300 mA) for powering inputs. Reverse polarity protection and surge suppression are built in. Fuse: 2A slow-blow (replaceable).
Environmental and Mechanical
Dimensions: 130 mm width x 90 mm height x 75 mm depth. Weight: 0.6 kg. Mounting: DIN rail or direct screw. Operating temperature: 0 to 55°C; storage: -20 to 75°C. Humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing. Protection class: IP20. Vibration: 2 g (10–55 Hz). Certifications: CE, UL 508, cUL, RoHS.
Programming Software
CX-Programmer (version 9.0 or higher) supports ladder diagram (LD) and sequential function chart (SFC). The CPU supports online editing and offline simulation. The built-in USB port eliminates need for a separate programming cable.
Typical Applications
Conveyor systems, packaging machines, small assembly cells, injection molding machines, and HVAC control. The relay outputs are suitable for direct control of contactors, solenoid valves, and alarm lights.
