Mitsubishi GT2310-VTBA / GT2310-VTBD HMI Touch Screen

The Mitsubishi GT2310-VTBA and GT2310-VTBD are 10.4-inch graphic operation terminals from the GOT2000 series of human-machine interfaces. These panels feature a TFT LCD display with SVGA resolution (640×480 pixels) and 65,536 colors. The VTBA model is powered by AC (100-240 V), while the VTBD model operates on 24 V DC, offering flexibility for different control cabinet power configurations. The GT2310 series provides a cost-effective entry into the GOT2000 platform while delivering robust visualization and communication capabilities for machine control and process monitoring applications.

Display Specifications

The 10.4-inch TFT LCD provides a display size of 211.2 mm (W) × 158.4 mm (H). SVGA resolution (640×480 dots) offers a standard 4:3 aspect ratio suitable for traditional industrial screen designs. Display colors: 65,536 colors. Brightness is adjustable to 16 levels. Backlight type: white LED (non-replaceable), with typical life of approximately 60,000 hours at 25°C ambient temperature and 50% display brightness. The touch panel is analog resistive film, supporting glove operation and with a mechanical life of over 1 million touches (0.98 N operating force).

Key Features

  • 10.4-inch TFT LCD, 640×480 SVGA resolution, 65,536 colors

  • Analog resistive touch panel with 1 million touches lifespan

  • AC power (GT2310-VTBA: 100-240 V) or DC 24 V (GT2310-VTBD)

  • Ethernet 10/100BASE-T for network connectivity

  • RS-232 and RS-422/485 communication ports (D-sub 9-pin)

  • USB host (type A) and USB device (mini-B) ports

  • SD card slot (SDHC compliant, up to 32 GB)

  • User memory: 9 MB storage ROM, 9 MB operation RAM

  • Real-time clock with lithium battery backup (approx. 5 years at 25°C)

  • IP67F front panel protection (dust-tight, water-resistant)

Communication and Connectivity

The GT2310 series provides versatile connectivity for industrial networks. The Ethernet port supports MELSEC communication protocols (SLMP, MC Protocol), Modbus TCP, and OPC UA. The RS-232 port (9-pin male) connects to programming devices, barcode scanners, or printers. The RS-422/485 port (9-pin female) enables multi-drop connections to Mitsubishi PLCs, inverters, temperature controllers, and third-party Modbus RTU devices. The USB host port (type A) accepts USB flash drives for project transfer, data logging, and screen capture. The USB device port (mini-B) connects to a PC for programming using GT Works3. The SD card slot supports SDHC cards for extended data storage, recipe storage, and logging of trend data. The panel also includes an expansion interface for optional communication modules.

Memory and Performance

The GT2310 series offers 9 MB of storage memory (ROM) for the project file and 9 MB of operation memory (RAM) for runtime execution. The user memory capacity supports screens with multiple windows, alarms, and trend graphs. The real-time clock maintains date and time with a precision of ±90 seconds per month at 25°C, powered by a GT11-50BAT lithium battery. The front panel includes a two-color POWER LED (blue/orange) for status indication and an adjustable-length buzzer for audible alerts.

Programming Environment

Screen design and programming are performed using Mitsubishi GT Works3 software (version 1.108N or later). The software provides a library of pre-built objects, alarm management, trend graphs, recipe functions, and script programming. Multi-language support allows up to 32 languages with runtime switching. Data logging to SD card or USB memory is configurable in CSV format for statistical process control. The panel also includes a built-in web server for remote monitoring and diagnostics via standard web browsers. Transparent function allows pass-through programming of the PLC from GT Works3 via the HMI. The software supports simulation mode for offline debugging.

Applications

The GT2310 series is suitable for operator stations on CNC machines, packaging lines, material handling systems, and process control skids. The 10.4-inch SVGA display provides adequate space for complex layouts with multiple gauges, trend views, alarm banners, and recipe selection screens. The IP67F front protection rating permits installation in wash-down environments such as food and beverage production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and automotive assembly lines.

Installation and Environmental

Panel cut-out dimensions: approximately 289 mm × 200 mm. External dimensions: 303 mm (W) × 218 mm (H) × 52 mm (D). Weight: approximately 1.9 kg. The AC model consumes 60 VA maximum; the DC model consumes 16 W maximum (backlight on) or 7 W (backlight off). Operating temperature: 0°C to 55°C. Storage temperature: -20°C to 60°C. Humidity: 10-90% non-condensing. Vibration resistance: 2g at 10-25 Hz. The front panel rating is IP67F while the rear in-control-panel side is rated IP2X. The panel is CE, UL/cUL, KC, and RoHS certified. An optional protective sheet is available for touch panel protection.

Conclusion

The Mitsubishi GT2310-VTBA and GT2310-VTBD HMIs provide a cost-effective, entry-level platform for the GOT2000 series. Their SVGA resolution, robust connectivity, and IP67F protection make them suitable for machine builders and system integrators requiring a reliable operator interface for mid-range automation applications.
