Phoenix ILC 191 ETH 2TX 2700976 Ethernet Controller

The Phoenix Contact ILC 191 ETH 2TX (ordering number 2700976) is an Inline Ethernet controller that functions as a programmable logic controller and communication gateway. It features an integrated 2‑port Ethernet switch (10/100 Mbps) and supports Modbus TCP, PROFINET IO, and HTTP protocols. The controller is used to connect Inline I/O modules to an Ethernet network, acting as a compact PLC for small to medium automation tasks.

Processor and Memory

The ILC 191 ETH is based on a 32-bit ARM9 processor at 200 MHz. Program memory: 2 MB flash, data memory: 8 MB RAM. Retentive memory: 128 KB (FRAM). The real-time clock (RTC) is battery backed (CR2032, 5 years). Scan time: 10 ms for 1000 instructions.

Ethernet Ports and Switching

Two RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and auto-crossover (MDI/MDI-X). The integrated switch supports daisy‑chain (line) topology and device‑level ring (DLR) with recovery time < 50 ms. Ports are isolated (1500 Vrms) and have LED indicators for link/activity and speed (100 Mbps).
