Mitsubishi Electric GT23 Series HMI Maintenance Guide

Series positioning and applicable scenarios

The Mitsubishi GT23 series is an economical graphic operating terminal in the GOT2000 family, including two models: GT2310 (10.4 inches) and GT2308 (8.4 inches), each of which is further divided into AC power supply type (VTBA) and DC24V power supply type (VTBD). This series adopts LED backlight and analog resistive touch screen, with a protection level of IP20 (the front panel is IP67F)? The actual manual is not clear, but it is usually IP65F. The GT23 series is suitable for small and medium-sized automation equipment that requires reliable human-machine interaction and is cost sensitive, such as packaging machinery, textile machinery, machine tool operation panels, etc.

Compared with the high-end GT27 series, the GT23 does not support advanced functions such as multi touch, gesture operation, built-in web server (GOT Mobile), video playback, and human body sensing, but retains basic monitoring, alarm, data recording, and rich communication interfaces, making it cost-effective. For production lines that still heavily use GT23, engineers need to master its hardware characteristics, installation specifications, and troubleshooting skills.


Hardware component and interface identification

Taking GT2310 as an example, its front panel and back are distributed with the following key components:

6 SD card access LED constantly on: SD card installed; Blinking: Accessing; Extinguished: not installed or removable

The 7 SD card interface supports SDHC cards for project transmission and data recording

When the SD card cover is opened, access to the SD card is prohibited. When it is closed, access is allowed (providing hardware write protection)

9 USB interface (Host) TYPE-A, can connect USB mouse, keyboard, barcode scanner, USB flash drive

10 USB interface (Device) Mini-B, used for connecting personal computers to transfer projects

11 cable clamp mounting holes are used to secure USB cables and prevent accidental detachment

12 Terminal Resistance Setting Switch (Inside Cover) RS-422/485 Communication Port Terminal Resistance Switch, Factory Default OFF

Installation of GT11-50BAT lithium battery (optional) in battery holder 13, used to maintain clock and SRAM data

Engineering tip: Before disassembling the SD card, it is necessary to confirm that the SD card access LED is turned off, otherwise it will damage the data inside the card. The design of the SD card cover is hardware write protection - after opening the cover, GOT cannot write to the SD card, which is very practical in preventing viruses or accidental writes.


Installation and environmental requirements

3.1 Physical Installation

Use 4 installation buckles to secure the GOT in the control cabinet panel opening. Hole size: GT2310 is 288 × 218 mm (11.34 × 8.58 in), GT2308 is 226 × 166 mm (8.90 × 6.54 in).

Install screws with a torque of 0.36-0.48 N · m using a No.2 Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the protective film on the surface of the screen, otherwise it may be difficult to remove if it is not torn off for a long time.

The installation environment should avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, dust, corrosive gases, conductive dust, and strong vibrations.

3.2 Environmental specifications

Project specifications

The working environment temperature ranges from 0 to 55 ° C (lowered by 5 ° C when installing the oil cover)

Storage temperature -20~60 ° C

Humidity 10~90% RH, no condensation

Altitude ≤ 2000 meters

Pollution level 2 (only non-conductive pollution, temporary condensation can cause conductivity)

Overvoltage category II or below

Anti vibration JIS B 3502/IEC 61131-2 standard

Anti impact 147 m/s ² (15G) three times

Key reminder: When the ambient temperature exceeds 40 ° C, the absolute humidity should not exceed 90% RH corresponding to 40 ° C. In addition, if a pressurized air seal is applied inside the control cabinet, it may cause gaps between the surface film and the screen, making touch operation difficult or causing the film to fall off.

Power wiring and power consumption

The GT23 series offers both AC and DC power versions, and engineers need to choose according to the on-site power supply conditions.

Input voltage: AC 100~240V (+10%, -15%), 50/60Hz ± 5%

Maximum apparent power: GT2310 is 44VA, GT2308 is 30VA

Maximum power consumption: GT2310 ≤ 18W, GT2308 ≤ 11W
