UniOP eTOP306 Industrial Touch Screen

In the fields of industrial automation and building control, human-machine interface is not only a window for information display, but also a bridge between operators and systems. Exor's eTOP306, as a member of the UniOP eTOP Series 300 family, has become an ideal choice for many mid to low end cost sensitive applications due to its excellent display performance, rich connection methods, and flexible expansion capabilities. ETOP306 is positioned in the high-performance and cost-effective industrial human-machine interface market. It combines modern industrial design aesthetics with practical functions, suitable for on-site monitoring in traditional manufacturing industries as well as emerging fields such as intelligent buildings, HVAC, and environmental monitoring. Core display and touch technology

1. Display performance

The eTOP306 is equipped with a 5.7-inch TFT color LCD display with a resolution of 320x240 pixels (QVGA) and supports up to 64K color displays. Compared to traditional STN screens, TFT technology brings faster response speed, wider viewing angle, and higher color saturation. The use of LED backlighting not only reduces power consumption, but also extends the lifespan of the screen, making it suitable for industrial environments with long-term continuous operation.

2. Touch technology

Adopting resistive touch screen technology, it supports finger, glove or stylus operation and adapts to the possible oil stains, dust or humid environment in industrial sites. The touch lifespan exceeds one million times, ensuring long-term reliability. Through the macro editor of Designer 6, developers can freely configure the response behavior of touch areas and implement complex interaction logic.


Hardware architecture and interface configuration

1. Processor and Memory

ETOP306 has 64MB of built-in user memory, which is sufficient to support complex graphical interfaces, multilingual text, and trend data. Its hardware platform has been optimized to smoothly run vector graphics and multi-layer interfaces, meeting the requirements of modern HMI for dynamic effects and real-time data refresh rates.

2. Communication interface

Ethernet interface: 10/100M adaptive, supporting direct communication with devices such as PLC, drivers, sensors, etc. It can also be used for program download, data acquisition, and integration with upper computer systems. Through the UniNet network protocol, multiple eTOP306s can share data and build a distributed monitoring system.

USB Host Interface: Supports connecting storage devices such as USB drives, facilitating backup and upgrade of applications, as well as import and export of recipes and log files. Users can complete system updates without opening the control cabinet, greatly improving maintenance efficiency.

Vector graphics engine: supports advanced graphic features such as object transparency, multi-layer overlay, rotation, and scaling, making interface design more flexible and aesthetically pleasing.

Multi language support: Built in Unicode encoding support, capable of managing multiple language texts simultaneously, including Far Eastern characters such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. Text information can be exported as an external file for professional translators to handle.

Macro Command Editor: With a simple scripting language, developers can write response logic for touch actions, variable changes, and other events to achieve complex control functions.

Communication driver library: Built in over 150 communication protocol drivers, covering mainstream PLC brands such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Omron, as well as general protocols such as Modbus and CANopen.

2. Data collection and trend analysis

ETOP306 supports real-time data collection and historical trend recording. Users can configure the sampling period, storage depth, and triggering conditions in Designer. Trend data can be transmitted to the central server via Ethernet or exported to a USB drive through a USB interface, providing a basis for subsequent statistical analysis and fault diagnosis.

3. Alarm and Event Management

The system supports up to 1024 alarm records, including real-time alarms and historical alarm lists. Alarm information can be color coded and sound prompted based on priority, and can be printed out or forwarded to the upper computer. The event log function can record key information such as user operations and system status changes, meeting the traceability requirements of ISO quality management system.

4. Recipe and Data Management

The recipe function allows users to store and call multiple sets of process parameters, suitable for batch production or equipment changeover scenarios. Formula data can be imported and exported through Ethernet or USB interfaces, making it easy to copy or backup between different devices.

1. UniNet distributed network

UniNet is Exor's proprietary Ethernet based HMI interconnect protocol. Through UniNet, multiple eTOP306s can share variable, alarm, and event information to build a distributed monitoring system. The upper layer can also integrate with SCADA or MES systems through UniNet OPC Server to achieve enterprise level data connectivity.

2. Remote maintenance and monitoring

With the Ethernet interface, technicians can remotely access eTOP306 on the office network or even the Internet to achieve program update, fault diagnosis and data monitoring. This is particularly useful for devices distributed across multiple locations, as it can significantly reduce on-site travel costs.


Installation and Mechanical Design

1. Appearance and opening size

ETOP306 adopts an ultra-thin design, with a total thickness controlled within 50mm, suitable for installation in control cabinets with limited depth. The front panel offers three options: white, silver, and black, to meet the appearance needs of different industrial equipment.

2. Protection and sealing

The front panel meets the IP65 protection level and can effectively prevent dust and water spray. Special sealing strips should be used during installation to ensure a tight fit with the cabinet. The back interface area adopts a protective cover design to prevent accidental contact and dust intrusion.

3. Install accessories

Exor provides a dedicated disposable protective film (model: X-TK-FP01) suitable for 5.7-inch and 7-inch touch screens, which can effectively prevent scratches and contamination during on-site construction. There is also a UV enhanced protective film (model: X-TK-FP02), suitable for outdoor or strong light environments.

In equipment such as assembly lines, packaging machinery, and plastic machinery, eTOP306 can serve as a local operation panel to achieve parameter settings, status monitoring, and fault display. Its rich communication driver library ensures fast connection with various PLCs and controllers.
