The ABB HBS01-CJC is an I/O module belonging to the MTUS (Modular I/O) – SD series for ABB automation systems. This Rev K module is designed for interfacing with field devices in industrial control applications. It can be configured as digital inputs, digital outputs, or analog inputs depending on the base board. The module is typically used with ABB’s AC500 PLC or other ABB control platforms. It features a compact design, high density, and diagnostic LEDs. The SD series is known for its robust construction and wide operating temperature range.
The HBS01-CJC module has a power supply of 24 V DC (consumption 50 mA). Number of channels: 8 configurable as digital input or output (depending on wiring). Digital inputs: 24 V DC, sink/source, 5 ms filter. Digital outputs: transistor, 0.5 A per channel, short-circuit protected. Analog option: 0-10V input (4 channels) when used with appropriate base. Communication: backplane bus to ABB PLC. Dimensions: 100 mm × 22.5 mm × 120 mm. Weight: 150 g. Operating temperature: -20°C to +60°C. Storage: -40°C to +85°C. Protection rating: IP20. LEDs: power, bus status, channel status.
8 configurable I/O channels (digital input or output)
24V DC operation, short-circuit protection
High-density 22.5 mm width
Diagnostic LEDs per channel
Compatible with ABB MTUS backplane
Rev K design with improved firmware

Plug the module into an MTUS backplane (SD series). Connect field wiring to the 12-pin removable terminal block. For digital inputs, wire sensors between the input terminal and common. For digital outputs, wire load between output and common (external 24V supply). Use ABB Automation Builder or AC500 Control Builder to configure the module as input or output. The module’s address is set by its slot position.
The HBS01-CJC is used in industrial automation for interfacing with sensors (proximity, limit switches) and actuators (solenoids, contactors). Typical industries include manufacturing, packaging, and material handling.
No routine maintenance. Replace module if faulty. Observe ESD precautions.
The ABB HBS01-CJC I/O module offers flexible 8-channel I/O in a compact format for ABB automation systems. Its configurable nature makes it suitable for diverse signal interfacing tasks.
