The ABB ACS380-040S-02A6-4 is a compact, high‑performance AC drive from the ACS380 series, designed for precise speed and torque control of three‑phase induction motors. Installation and Wiring

Mount the drive vertically on a non‑flammable surface, maintaining 25 mm clearance above and below for airflow. Connect input power to terminals U1, V1, W1, and motor leads to U2, V2, W2. Use shielded motor cables and ground the shield at both ends for EMC compliance. Control signal cables should be separated from power cables by at least 200 mm. The STO terminals must be connected to +24 V DC to enable the drive; leaving them open disables the output for safety. An external input fuse (10 A, class gG) is required.

Typical uses include variable speed control of conveyors in material handling, fan speed regulation in HVAC systems, pump control in water treatment, and extruder drives in plastics processing. The drive’s compact size makes it ideal for machine building in food and beverage, packaging, and textile industries.
