The B&R X20AO2632 is a high-precision analog output module designed for seamless integration within the B&R X20 automation system. This module converts digital control values from the central processing unit into standard analog voltage or current signals, enabling precise regulation of external actuators, proportional valves, frequency inverters, and industrial process regulators.
Operating on the X20 backplane bus system, the X20AO2632 features high-speed data transmission and synchronization capabilities. The module is fully integrated into the B&R Automation Studio engineering environment, allowing straightforward parameter configuration, scaling, and diagnostic setup.
The X20AO2632 provides two independent analog output channels. Each channel can be individually configured to support different signal ranges, including standard zero to ten volt outputs or zero to twenty milliampere and four to twenty milliampere current loops. This flexibility eliminates the need for distinct module variants across diverse field equipment setups.
The digital-to-analog converters feature a high resolution of twelve bits, ensuring smooth signal steps and fine adjustments for high-accuracy closed-loop process control. Short-circuit protection is integrated into the voltage output circuitry, while open-loop detection monitors current outputs to guard against field wiring failures.

Electrical safety and noise immunity are achieved through comprehensive galvanic isolation between the internal X20 backplane bus logic and the external analog output channels. This prevents ground loops and electrical interference from migrating back into the core PLC rack, ensuring clean signal paths and stable control behavior.
The module also incorporates internal digital filtering techniques to smooth control commands and eliminate sudden signal steps that could induce mechanical strain or water hammer effects in fluid power systems.
The X20AO2632 follows the modular three-part design of the X20 system, consisting of a bus module, a base module, and a removable terminal block. This configuration allows terminal blocks to be wired independently of the electronics module, enabling rapid module replacement without altering the existing cabinet field wiring layout.
The B&R X20AO2632 module is widely used in plastic injection molding machines, automated chemical dosing systems, HVAC damper modulation, and paper manufacturing equipment where precise analog tracking and absolute signal stability are vital for production quality.
