Future IHDW-BLA4S-IM Intelligent CNC MPG Handwheel (Manual Pulse Generator)

The Future IHDW-BLA4S-IM is an intelligent manual pulse generator (MPG) handwheel from the iHDW series, designed for CNC machine tools and industrial automation systems. It provides operators with intuitive, high-resolution manual control for axis positioning, zero-point setting, step-by-step feed, and program interruption. Known as an electronic handwheel or manual pulse generator, the IHDW-BLA4S-IM is an essential interface for the manual operation of computer-controlled machine tools. The iHDW series is the next generation of intelligent handwheels, suitable for large or high-end machine models requiring precise manual axis control with feedback. A display screen series is available for operator convenience, showing coordinates and functional status on the screen.

Pulse Generation and Resolution

The handwheel generates high-resolution incremental pulse signals for precise control of machine axis movement. Output is 100 pulses per revolution (PPR), providing fine resolution for accurate positioning tasks. Each pulse corresponds to a defined micro-step of machine movement, scaled by the CNC control according to the selected multiplication factor. The differential output provides noise immunity for transmission in industrial environments with high EMI. Output type is typically line driver (RS-422 compliant), ensuring signal integrity over the cable length to the CNC controller.


Axis Selection and Functionality

The IHDW-BLA4S-IM includes a 4-axis selection switch (PTP 4 Axes), allowing the operator to choose which machine axis (e.g., X, Y, Z, 4th) is controlled by the handwheel. The unit includes a standard 3-meter long flexible cable for connection to the CNC control cabinet, allowing operator mobility around the machine work zone.
