MTL 8715-CA-BI HART Transparent Isolator
The MTL 8715-CA-BI is a HART transparent isolator and Profibus DP Bus Interface Module (BIM) for the MTL8000 Series intrinsically safe I/O system. It serves as the communication gateway between MTL8000 Series I/O nodes and a Profibus DP master controller, providing bidirectional HART communication for remote configuration and diagnostics of smart field instruments located in hazardous areas. The module also provides galvanic isolation (1500V AC) between hazardous and safe area circuits, preventing fault propagation and ground loops.

HART Transparent Isolation
The MTL 8715-CA-BI provides bidirectional HART transparent isolation, allowing digital HART communication signals to pass through the barrier without attenuation or filtering. This enables operators to remotely configure, calibrate, and diagnose HART-enabled smart transmitters and valve positioners located in hazardous areas using a HART communicator or asset management software from the safe area. The module's 1500V AC isolation ensures complete electrical separation between hazardous and safe area circuits, preventing fault currents from crossing the barrier. The module also functions as a Profibus DP Bus Interface Module, connecting up to 24 MTL8000 Series I/O modules to a Profibus DP control system. Its ultra-slim 22.5mm width allows high-density mounting in control cabinets.
