Mitsubishi GT2708 Series HMI Touch Screen

The Mitsubishi GT2708 series comprises four graphic operation panel models within the GOT2000 family: GT2708-VTBA, GT2708-VTBD, GT2708-STBA, and GT2708-STBD. These 8.4-inch TFT LCD displays offer high visibility and reliable touch operation for industrial automation environments. The series provides flexibility with VGA or SVGA resolutions and AC or DC power supply options, enabling integration into diverse machine control applications.

Model Variations

GT2708-VTBA features VGA resolution (640x480 pixels) with analog touch panel, AC power input (100-240V AC), Ethernet interface, RS232, RS422/485, and USB mini-B programming port. GT2708-VTBD shares the same specifications but operates on 24V DC power. GT2708-STBA offers SVGA resolution (800x600 pixels) with analog touch, AC power, and adds an SD card slot and USB host port. GT2708-STBD provides SVGA resolution with DC power and the same expanded connectivity.


Display and Performance

The 8.4-inch TFT LCD displays 65,536 colors with LED backlight rated for 50,000 hours of typical operation. Brightness is 350 cd/m² with a contrast ratio of 500:1. Viewing angles are 80° left/right and 60° up/down. The analog resistive touch panel withstands over one million touches. The LED backlight includes a dimming function and sleep mode to extend service life. The front panel achieves IP65 protection against dust and water jets, ensuring operation in harsh factory conditions.

Communication and Connectivity

The GT2708 series supports simultaneous communication with multiple devices via built-in ports. The Ethernet port enables connection to Mitsubishi MELSEC PLCs, Modbus TCP devices, and network-based SCADA systems. The RS232 port connects to programming devices or serial printers. The RS422/485 port supports multi-drop connections to PLCs, inverters, and temperature controllers using MELSEC, Modbus RTU, or other protocols. The USB host port on ST models accepts USB flash drives for data logging, screen capture, and firmware updates.

Programming Environment

Engineers create screen projects using GT Designer3 (GOT2000 series) software. The software provides a library of pre-built objects, alarms, trends, recipes, and script functions. Multiple language switching supports up to 32 languages for international machines. Remote monitoring via built-in web server is available on Ethernet-equipped models. The software also supports data logging to SD card or USB memory in CSV format for statistical process control.

Applications

Typical deployments include CNC machine operator panels, packaging line HMIs, conveyor system controls, HVAC supervision, and batch process management. The 8.4-inch size fits standard panel cutouts for retrofitting older CRT displays. The robust touch surface accommodates gloved operation in food, chemical, and automotive manufacturing.


Environmental Specifications

Operating temperature range is 0 to 55°C (horizontal mounting) or 0 to 45°C (vertical mounting). Storage temperature is -20 to 60°C. Humidity tolerance is 10-90% RH non-condensing. Vibration resistance is 2g at 10-25 Hz. AC models consume 50 VA maximum; DC models consume 35 W maximum. Dimensions for VGA models: 235mm W x 172mm H x 53mm D. SVGA models have slightly larger housing.

Ordering and Compliance

The GT2708 series complies with CE, UL, cUL, and RoHS standards. An optional protective sheet (GT27-4PSCB) and mounting gasket (GT27-4ATT) are available separately. The units ship with power connector and installation guide. For DC models, a 24V DC power supply with Class 2 or SELV rating is required.
