The NAIS ANR5131 is a micro laser sensor controller from Panasonic (NAiS), designed for high-precision displacement measurement and detection. It is part of Panasonic's LM series of micro laser sensors and was manufactured until March 2013. The controller provides high accuracy and fast response, making it suitable for industrial automation applications requiring precise distance measurement, positioning, or part presence detection.

The ANR5131 uses laser displacement sensing technology to achieve high-accuracy measurements. The analog output provides a ±5 V signal proportional to the distance measured, enabling precise position and displacement monitoring. The zero adjustment range of ±10% F.S. allows calibration to suit specific application requirements. The temperature drift of ±0.03% F.S./°C ensures measurement stability across varying temperatures. The controller supports selectable response frequencies (1 kHz, 100 Hz, or 10 Hz), allowing optimization between speed and noise immunity based on the application.
The controller offers both NPN and PNP open-collector outputs, providing compatibility with various industrial control systems. It includes comparator output and alarm output functions, enabling direct connection to PLCs, relays, or other control devices. The alarm output can be used to signal when the measured value exceeds a predefined threshold or when a sensor fault occurs. This flexibility simplifies system integration and reduces the need for additional signal conditioning components.
The NAIS ANR5131 is used in industrial automation for displacement measurement on production lines, precision machining and inspection of mechanical parts, robot positioning and navigation, quality control and inspection equipment, and as a replacement part for existing Panasonic LM series installations. Note that the ANR5131 is discontinued (discontinued March 31, 2013), but remains in use in legacy systems. For new designs, consider Panasonic HL-G1 series as a recommended alternative.
