The Vibro-meter VM600 CMC16 is a 16-slot rack chassis serving as the central infrastructure for the VM600 machinery protection and condition monitoring system. Designed for critical rotating machinery applications, this rack provides the physical and electrical backbone for monitoring vibration, position, and temperature parameters on turbines, compressors, generators, and pumps.
The CMC16 rack accommodates up to 16 standard VM600 measurement cards, supporting extensive monitoring configurations in a single enclosure. The rack is designed for 19-inch rack mounting, conforming to EIA standard dimensions for integration into control room cabinets. The backplane provides power distribution and communication pathways between cards, supporting both analog and digital signal routing. A dedicated system slot accommodates the ABE040 processor card that manages rack-wide communication and data aggregation.
Redundant power supply modules ensure continuous operation in mission-critical applications. The rack accepts two power supply units operating in load-sharing configuration; if one unit fails, the remaining unit sustains full system operation without interruption. Power supplies are designed for hot-swap replacement, allowing maintenance without system shutdown. Input voltage acceptance ranges from 18 to 36 V DC, with galvanic isolation between input and output stages.
Slot Capacity: 16 measurement card slots + 1 system slot
Rack Format: 19-inch, 6U height
Power Supply: Redundant, hot-swappable 24 V DC modules
Backplane: Passive design with distributed power filtering

Storage Temperature: -20°C to +70°C
Protection: Conformal coating on backplane for harsh environments

The CMC16 rack serves as a central data concentration point for the VM600 system. Measured data from installed cards is collected by the system controller and made available to external systems via Ethernet, Modbus, or proprietary Vibro-meter communication protocols. The rack supports connection to the VM600 MPS software suite for configuration, diagnostics, and continuous condition monitoring. Alarm and relay outputs can be configured for direct connection to plant control systems or for annunciation purposes.
Constructed from electro-galvanized steel, the CMC16 chassis provides electromagnetic shielding and mechanical rigidity for reliable operation in industrial environments. The rack includes front-mounted card guides with extraction handles for easy module insertion and removal. Dimensions are 482.6 mm width, 265.9 mm height, and 350 mm depth, with mounting flanges for standard 19-inch rack installation. Ventilation is provided through side and rear openings, designed for forced-air cooling in typical control room installations.
