The VMIC VMIVME-7740-840 is a 6U VME single-board computer featuring an Intel Pentium III processor, delivering x86 compatibility within the VMEbus architecture. This module is designed for industrial automation, medical imaging, and building management systems requiring robust computing performance and extensive I/O capabilities.
The board is equipped with an Intel Pentium III processor operating at 850 MHz, utilizing a PGA370 socket for reliable connection. System memory is provided through a 144-pin SODIMM socket supporting up to 512 MB of SDRAM, which is dual-ported with the VMEbus for efficient data sharing. The memory architecture enables simultaneous access by the local CPU and VMEbus masters.
The VMIVME-7740-840 implements VME64 bus interface with support for A32, A24, and A16 addressing modes along with D32, D16, and D08 data transfers. It features MBLT64 and BLT32 block transfer modes for high-throughput data movement. A PMC expansion site with VMEbus P2 I/O connectivity provides additional functionality through mezzanine cards.

Integrated AGP SVGA controller supports display resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 with 64,000 colors, making the board suitable for operator interface applications. Front panel connections include a PS/2 keyboard and mouse port, USB connectivity, and status indicators. The board includes three 16-bit timers compatible with the 82C54 architecture, programmable through software for timing and counting functions.
