The Schneider XPSMC32ZP is a modular, configurable safety relay from the XPSMC series. It provides flexible safety monitoring for emergency stop circuits, guard door switches, light curtains, and two-hand control devices. The unit can be programmed via internal logic to suit complex safety functions, reducing the need for multiple dedicated relays.
The XPSMC32ZP features 8 safety inputs (configurable as dual-channel or single-channel with cross-circuit detection) and 2 safety outputs (relay contacts, 2 NO each, 5A at 250V AC). Additionally, it has 2 solid-state auxiliary outputs (24V DC, 0.5A). Inputs accept signals from OSSD devices, mechanical contacts, and proximity sensors. External device monitoring (EDM) is supported.
Using Schneider’s XPSMCWIN software (or via front panel switches), users can configure logic combinations: AND, OR, time delays (0-30 sec), cross-circuit detection, and start/auto reset. Up to 10 function blocks can be chained. The module stores the configuration in non-volatile memory. A password can be set to prevent unauthorized changes.
Certified for SIL 3 (IEC 61508, IEC 62061) and PL e / category 4 (ISO 13849-1). The mean time to dangerous failure (MTTFd) is > 100 years. The unit performs self-diagnostics every 100 ms, including output contact welding detection.
Supply voltage: 24V DC (±20%). Power consumption: 5 W typical. Dimensions: 112 x 112 x 23 mm (snap-on DIN rail mounting). Operating temperature: -10°C to +55°C. Humidity: 10% to 95% non-condensing. Terminals are removable screw type (2.5 mm²).
LED indicators: power (green), channel status (yellow per each safety channel), fault (red). A detailed diagnostic memory stores the last 10 shut-off events with timestamp. The front panel has an INFO button to cycle through status codes.

Compliant with EN 60204-1, EN 60947-5-1, UL 508, CSA C22.2. The XPSMC32ZP is CE marked and TÜV certified. It is suitable for machinery safety applications world-wide.
Common in packaging machinery, robotics, conveyor systems, and presses. The configurable nature allows one unit to replace several dedicated safety relays, saving panel space and reducing wiring errors.
The Schneider XPSMC32ZP configurable safety relay combines flexibility, high safety integrity, and compact design. Its programmable inputs and outputs adapt to various safety functions, making it an efficient solution for modern machinery safeguarding.
