Graphical programme creation

The Advant Controller 110 is programmed in the AMPL programming language. AMPL is a programming language based on function blocks programming language based on function blocks, which is suitable for logic controls and step chains as well as for calculations and continuous control. Application programmes are created graphically by first selecting the required function blocks and then linking them together.

The printed programme has the same appearance appearance as the display on the screen.This is particularly important when troubleshooting. The printout provides an overview, while the details are details are displayed on the screen, including updating the signal values and and tracing the signals back to their source.

System connection

The Advant Controller 110 is a component of the Advant OCS automation system and supports the communication protocols Avant Fieldbus 100, PROFIBUS, RCOM/RCOM+ and MasterFieldbus. These protocols are also used by other controllers, decentralised inputs/outputs and operating stations - and even by speed-controlled drives.speed-controlled drives - from ABB which allows the Advant Controller 110 to be integrated into the exceptionally homogeneous, process and plant-wide process and plant-wide control systems.

Can be extended as required

The Advant Controller 110 can be customised and extended in a variety of ways to suit changes to the system. One possibility - and at the same time the simplest - is to supplement the controller with plug-in modules. The devices can be added during operation without switching off. Another alternative is to add complete I/O subracks. The third option is to add several stations to the Advant Controller 110 and connect them to a decentralised control system.
