Many problems with on-site troubleshooting can actually be discovered during the cold commissioning phase. For example, poor contact of circuit breaker position contacts, coil monitoring circuit not connected in series, protection starting direction reversed, auxiliary contacts of voltage transformer MCB not connected in series, and motor energy storage contacts not connected in series in the operating position circuit. Checking these interfaces point by point during cold debugging is safer and more efficient than repeatedly switching during hot debugging.
In terms of maintenance, the SUE 3000 consists of electronic and electromechanical components, which are generally maintenance free. However, the continuity monitoring of the control circuit and the status monitoring of the circuit breaker should be checked regularly. It is recommended to prepare at least the motherboard, power module, binary I/O board, analog input transformer board, HMI cable, and HMI control unit as spare parts. After replacing the board, it is necessary to download the configuration again and check the FUPLA cycle time. The cycle time must be less than 15ms, otherwise the device cannot guarantee the switching timing. The parameters are stored in Flash and will not be lost during long-term power outages, but they need to be rechecked and configured after replacing the motherboard.
