3.3 Installation direction and SD card position
The device can be installed horizontally (landscape) or vertically (portrait). But the SD card slot must not face downwards, otherwise the card may fall off due to gravity.
After installation, sufficient space should be reserved on the side of the device (SD card side) for inserting and removing SD cards.

Mechanical installation steps
4.1 Tool Preparation
2.0 mm hex wrench
PZ2 cross screwdriver
Torque wrench (range 0~1 Nm)
4.2 Installation process
Check the sealing gasket: Confirm that the sealing gasket on the back of the front frame is not damaged and fully embedded in the groove.
Pre installed fixed bracket: Screw the included hexagon socket set screw (M4 × 25 DIN 914) into the bracket, but do not tighten it.
Insert into the opening: Insert the touch screen into the opening from the front, ensuring that the display area is centered.
Installation bracket: Hook the bracket into the slot on the side of the housing and rotate the fastening screw until it contacts the back of the panel. First contact is sufficient, do not tighten.
Diagonal cross tightening: gradually tighten the fastening screws of each bracket in sequence, with a final torque of ≤ 0.1 Nm. Excessive torque can cause panel deformation or seal failure.
Check the seal: Observe whether the sealing gasket is evenly attached to the panel, and adjust it if there is any gap.
4.3 Number of Supports
Number of model brackets
4 pieces of 3.5 inches
5.7 inches, 6 pieces
8 pieces of 7.0 inches
All accompanying brackets must be fully installed, otherwise the IP65 front protection level cannot be achieved.
Electrical connection
5.1 Power Wiring
XV-102-L requires 24V DC SELV/PELV power supply. The power supply must come from a safely isolated AC-DC converter that complies with IEC 60950 or UL508 requirements.
Parameter values
Rated voltage+24 V DC
Allowable fluctuation range (effective value) 19.2~30.0 V (-20%/+25%)
Absolute limit (including ripple) 18.0~31.2 V
Battery power supply range 18.0~31.2 V (-25%/+30%), 35V continuous<100ms
Voltage sag tolerance ≤ 10 ms (compliant with IEC61131-2)
Maximum power consumption 3.5 ": 5W; 5.7"/7.0 ": 7W (USB module additional 2.5W)
Maximum current 0.3A (3.5 "); 0.4A (5.7"/7.0 ")
The wiring terminal adopts MSTB 2.5-3-ST-5.08 pluggable connector:
Signal Description
+ 24V DC(SELV/PELV)
FE functional grounding (connected to the metal casing of the connector. Can also serve as protective grounding when needed)
-0V power supply circuit
Copper wire: minimum 0.75 mm ² (AWG18) to maximum 2.5 mm ² (AWG12), temperature resistance of 60 ℃/70 ℃.
Stripping length: 7 mm
Terminal screw torque: 0.6~0.8 Nm (5~7 lb · in)
Attention: The device is equipped with non user replaceable fuses and polarity reversal protection. The power supply is not isolated (0V and functional grounding are not isolated), so external power supplies that comply with SELV/PELV standards must be used.
5.2 Functional grounding
The equipment casing is made of plastic material and has no potential. The functional grounding terminal is only connected to the metal casing of the connector and is not connected to the internal 0V. The system integrator should ensure that FE is reliably connected to the protective earth (PE) of the system. In ship applications, grounding kits (such as Eaton ZB4-102-KS1) must be used to improve EMC performance.
5.3 Power Filter (Marine Certification Requirements)
If it is necessary to meet the EMC B level of DNV GL, a radio interference suppression filter must be installed at the 24V DC incoming line:
XT-FIL-1 (within 2.2A)
XT-FIL-2 (within 12A)
The metal base plate of the filter must be grounded. The filter should be placed as close as possible to XV-102.
Interface and communication connection
XV-102-L has the following interface combinations on board (marked on the nameplate) depending on the model:
Ports included in the interface code
L3 Ethernet+USB host+RS-232
L4 Ethernet+USB host+RS-485
L5 Ethernet+USB host+RS-232+CAN
L6 Ethernet+USB host+RS-485+CAN
All interfaces are not electrically isolated, so it is necessary to ensure that the GND potential between connected devices is equal, otherwise it may damage the equipment.
6.1 Ethernet (LAN1)
RJ45 socket, 10/100 Mbit/s adaptive, supports CAT5e/6 shielded twisted pair (STP).
Green LED (always on)=LINK active; Yellow LED (flashing)=data transmission.
Important: Avoid subjecting RJ45 connectors to severe vibration or tension, as it may damage mechanical contacts and cause communication failures.
Shielded cables should be used on the network side, and the shielding layer should be grounded at one end.
6.2 USB Host
USB 2.0 A-type socket, non isolated, maximum output 500mA.
For maintenance purposes only (firmware updates, data backups, etc.), it is not recommended to connect non-standard peripherals to industrial sites as the anti-interference capability of commercial peripherals may be insufficient.
Maximum cable length: 5m (shielded USB cable must be used).
Frequent writing to USB flash drives can shorten their lifespan; Writing during voltage dips may result in data loss.
6.3 RS-232(COM1)
9-pin SUB-D male head (UNC nut), non isolated.
