The relationship between maximum baud rate and line length:
2.5m → 115200 bit/s
5m → 57600 bit/s
10m → 38400 bit/s
15m → 19200 bit/s
30m → 9600 bit/s
Shielded cables must be used, with the shielding layer connected to the low impedance of the connector housing.
The pin allocation is shown in the table below:
PIN signal
2 RxD
3 TxD
5 GND
Other NCs
6.4 RS-485(COM2)
9-pin SUB-D male head (UNC nut), non isolated, supports half duplex.
Pin allocation:
PIN 3: Data B(+)
PIN 7: Data A(-)
PIN 5: GND
Cable characteristic impedance: 120 Ω (allowing 108-132 Ω)
Maximum cable length: 1200 m (at 9600 bit/s)
Supporting baud rates: 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200 bit/s
Bus topology:
A total line segment can have a maximum of 32 nodes.
A 120 Ω terminal resistor must be installed at each end of the bus (connected between PIN 3 and 7).
Terminal resistors shall not be installed at the midpoint or excess position of the bus.
The number of nodes and cable length can be expanded through repeaters.
Error case: Failure to connect terminal resistors or incorrect resistor positions can cause signal reflection and result in communication packet loss.
6.5 CAN interface
9-pin SUB-D male head, compliant with CiA standards, non isolated.
Pin allocation:
PIN 2: CAN_L
PIN 7: CAN_H
PIN 3: CAN_GND
PIN 6: GND (internally connected to PIN 3)
PIN 1, 4, 5, 8, and 9 must not be connected.
The cable requirements are the same as RS-485 (120 Ω impedance, twisted pair shielding).
Maximum baud rate and length:
25m → 1000 kbit/s
50m → 800 kbit/s
100m → 500 kbit/s
250m → 250 kbit/s
500m → 125 kbit/s
1000m → 50 kbit/s
2500m → 20 kbit/s
5000m → 10 kbit/s
Terminal resistor: A 120 Ω resistor (between PIN 2 and 7) must be connected at each end of the bus.
The total line segment can have up to 32 nodes and can be extended using repeaters.

Precautions for using SD card
The device supports SDSC or SDHC cards (compliant with SDA 2.0 specifications), and it is recommended to use original accessories.
Insertion direction: Only forward insertion is allowed, and brute force should not be used. Push to the end and you will hear the locking sound of the buckle.
Pull out the card: First gently push it into the stop position, the card will pop out, and then pull it out.
Important Warning:
The internal memory, SD card, and USB drive have limited write times to avoid frequent writes.
Only plug and unplug the SD card when the device is powered off, otherwise it may damage data or the card.
Before shutting down the device, ensure that no program is performing write operations on the SD card.
Installation direction: The SD card slot should not face downwards to prevent the card from coming off.
First power on and debugging
8.1 Pre power on inspection
Confirm that the power polarity is correct and the voltage is between 19.2-30V DC.
Confirm that all interface cables are securely connected and the shielding grounding is good.
Confirm that there is no condensation. If the device has experienced drastic temperature changes (such as moving from a cold warehouse to a warm computer room), it should be allowed to adapt to the ambient temperature for at least 2 hours without power, and then powered on after the interior is completely dry.
8.2 Startup Process
XV-102-L does not have a power switch, it automatically boots when connected to a 24V power supply.
After startup, the device will load the installed runtime software (such as CODESYS or GALILEO). When no visualization or PLC is pre installed at the factory, users need to install it themselves.
The backlight lifespan can be extended by reducing the brightness of the display screen (typical lifespan of LED backlight is 40000 hours).
8.3 Touch screen calibration
The resistive touch screen has been calibrated at the factory. If the touch response is inaccurate, it needs to be recalibrated in the system settings.
After calibration, use your fingers or stylus to operate. Do not touch the screen with sharp objects (such as blades or screwdrivers) to avoid scratching the resistive film layer.
Common troubleshooting
Possible causes and solutions for the fault phenomenon
XV-102 cannot start without 24V power supply. Check the power input wiring; Measure whether the voltage is normal
Touch unresponsive or unresponsive, touch uncalibrated; Touch function disabled, enter system settings for recalibration; Check the touch function enable status
Ethernet communication failure, cable damage or failure to use STP cable; Replace shielded cable due to RJ45 vibration loosening; Check if the connector is securely fastened
RS-485/CAN communication has a large number of errors and lacks terminal resistors; Resistance position error; If the cable is too long, add 120 Ω resistors at both ends of the bus; Shorten cable length
Frequent restarts of the device result in power voltage drops exceeding specifications; On site interference measurement of 24V voltage stability; Install power filter
SD card cannot recognize that the card is not inserted properly; Card type incompatible; Card damage, re plug and unplug; Use SDHC card (maximum 32GB); Card replacement test
Daily maintenance and cleaning
XV-102-L is basically maintenance free, but the following operations can help extend its lifespan:
