6.4 Output Settings for Parallel Installation
MENU mode → [SYS2] → [LINKSET]:
[TRIG]: Set the host as [I/O] to receive external triggers; Set as the slave synchronization host triggered by [LINK].
[HEAD]: Set the unit connecting the sensor head to [USE]; Set unconnected as [NOT USE] (the image is obtained from the unit on the right).
[OUTPUT]: [ALL] Output the comprehensive judgment results of all units; [EACH] Each unit outputs independently.
Troubleshooting and Common Problems
7.1 Abnormal indicator light
Possible causes and countermeasures for the phenomenon
The OUTPUT indicator light is not on [ON STATUS]. If the setting does not match the judgment result, check whether it is set to OK ON or NG ON
The RUN indicator light is not on, and the mode switch is not in RUN mode. Switch to RUN mode
LCD dark Eco mode activated (no operation for 3 minutes) Press any key to restore, or turn off Eco mode
No image display sensor head connected; Check the connection when the LED brightness is 0; Adjust [CUTOM] → [LIGHT]
7.2 Error Messages
Reason for error message and countermeasures
HEAD IS NOT CONNECTED Sensor Head Not Connected Correctly Check Connector
NEIGHBOR UNIT IS NOT CONNECTED Poor connection during parallel installation, re connect amplifier unit
TEACHING FAILED workpiece is not in view; Improper setting of teaching area, adjustment of position or area
BANK DATA ERROR Bank data corruption Initialize bank data and reset
SYSTEM ERROR Hardware or software failure contact OMRON
7.3 Frequently Asked Questions Q&A
Q: Can the LED lighting of the sensor head be turned off?
A: Okay. Set to [0000] in [CUTOM] → [LIGHT].
Q: How to shorten the measurement time?
A: Two methods: 1) Set [IMAGE RATE] to [HIGH SPEED]; 2) Press the TEACH/VIEW key in RUN mode to switch to "image display only" (reducing display processing time).
Q: What if the teaching is not successful?
A: 1) Check if the workpiece is within the teaching area; 2) Adjust [CUTOM] → [LIGHT] to make the image clearer; 3) Check if the TRIG timing is correct during mobile teaching; 4) Make sure not to press the TEACH key while moving/adjusting the screen in the area.
Q: Has the search area been changed, but the search is still being conducted outside the area?
A: After changing the customer setting, the teaching must be re executed.
Q: When will the measurement conditions be saved to the amplifier?
A: When external TEACH signal teaching is successful; 2) When switching to RUN mode. If the TEACH button is pressed on the teaching screen and the power is directly turned off, the changed content will be lost.
Daily maintenance and precautions
Cleaning: Use air blowing or a soft cloth to clean the front panel of the sensor head. Do not use diluents, benzene, acetone, or kerosene.
Ventilation film: Do not puncture or block the ventilation film with sharp objects, otherwise the protection level will fail or the front panel will condense.
Heat dissipation: The amplifier unit must be installed in the direction specified in the manual (connector facing up/down), and cannot be placed horizontally or upside down, otherwise it will affect heat dissipation.
Grounding: When using a switch power supply, the FG terminal must be grounded.
Connecting/disconnecting sensor head: The amplifier power must be turned off, otherwise the sensor head may be damaged.
