The Vibro-meter MPC4 200-510-111-035 is a high-performance machinery protection card designed for the VM600 series mechanical protection system. This module provides continuous monitoring of vibration parameters on critical rotating equipment such as turbines, compressors, generators, and pumps, enabling early fault detection and prevention of unplanned downtime.
The MPC4 features four independent dynamic signal input channels for vibration monitoring, plus two dedicated speed input channels for rotational speed measurement. Each dynamic channel supports simultaneous measurement of multiple parameters including overall vibration amplitude, displacement, and velocity values. The module utilizes advanced digital signal processing technology to deliver real-time analysis with high accuracy and repeatability.
The module supports programmable broadband and narrowband filters, allowing configuration of measurement bandwidths to suit specific machinery characteristics. It can simultaneously monitor amplitude and phase information, providing comprehensive diagnostic data for rotor dynamics analysis. The MPC4 also supports integration and differentiation of acceleration signals to obtain velocity and displacement measurements.
Dynamic Input Channels: 4 independent channels
Speed Input Channels: 2 tachometer channels
Input Types: Accelerometers, velocity sensors, proximity probes
Frequency Range: 0.1 Hz to 10 kHz (configurable)
Filter Types: Programmable broadband and narrowband filters
Alarm Setpoints: Programmable alert and danger levels per channel
Signal Outputs: Buffered raw signal outputs via front panel BNC connectors
Operating Temperature: -25°C to +65°C

The MPC4 provides programmable alert and danger alarm setpoints for each measurement parameter. Alarm logic includes configurable time delays to prevent nuisance tripping during transient events and hysteresis settings to stabilize alarm states. The module communicates alarm status to the system controller, which can activate relay outputs for connection to plant safety systems. Front panel LEDs provide clear visual indication of channel status and active alarms.
Continuous sensor integrity monitoring detects open circuits, short circuits, and sensor bias failures. The module performs self-diagnostics at startup and during operation, reporting any detected faults through the system communication interface. Buffered raw signal outputs on the front panel allow connection of portable analyzers for detailed signal analysis without interrupting normal system operation.
