Siemens 6ES7215-1AG40-0XB0 S7-1200 CPU 1215C Compact PLC
The 6ES7215-1AG40-0XB0 (CPU 1215C) is a compact programmable logic controller from Siemens S7-1200 series. It features a power supply (120/230 VAC), 14 digital inputs (sink/source), 10 digital outputs (relay), 2 analog inputs (0-10V, 0-20mA), and 2 analog outputs (0-10V). The CPU includes an Ethernet port for programming and PROFINET communication, as well as a user program memory of 125 KB (code) and 4 MB (data).
Technical Specifications
Digital Inputs: 14, 24 VDC (sink/source), built-in counters up to 100 kHz
Digital Outputs: 10 relays, 2 A per channel (5 A total common)
Analog Inputs: 2, 10-bit resolution, 0-10V or 0-20mA selectable
Analog Outputs: 2, 10-bit resolution, 0-10V
Processing Speed: 0.08 µs per bit instruction
Memory: 125 KB work memory (program), 4 MB load memory (integrated)
Integrated Communication
The CPU includes a PROFINET interface (2-port switch) supporting 16 connections for HMIs, drives, and other S7-1200 CPUs. It can act as an IO controller or IO device. Protocols: TCP/IP, ISO-on-TCP, Modbus TCP, and S7 communication. An additional RS485 port (optional signal board) can be added for Modbus RTU or USS.
Built-In Functions
The CPU 1215C features six high-speed counters (100 kHz) with 64-bit resolution, four pulse outputs (PWM, 100 kHz), and two-axis motion control (PTO, 100 kHz) for stepper/servo drives. It also integrates two PID loops (auto-tuning) and a real-time clock (battery-backed for 20 days typical).
Expansion Capabilities
Up to 8 signal modules (SM) and 3 communication modules (CM) can be attached on the right side. One signal board (SB) can be installed on the front for additional I/O. The CPU can control up to 16 PROFINET devices (e.g., ET200SP distributed I/O).
Physical and Environmental
Dimensions: 130 mm x 100 mm x 75 mm (WxHxD). Weight: 0.55 kg. Operating temperature: -20°C to +60°C horizontal, -20°C to +50°C vertical. Storage: -40°C to +70°C. Protection class IP20. Power supply: 85–264 VAC, 47–63 Hz; inrush current 20 A peak. The CPU is programmed via TIA Portal (V13 SP1 or higher) in LAD, FBD, or SCL.
