The ATTO controlSYS ATT0-CPU44 is an all-in-one programmable logic controller with an integrated operator interface display. This compact unit combines control logic processing and local monitoring capabilities, reducing the need for separate HMI panels. It supports expansion with up to six ATT0-xx series modules (digital I/O, analog I/O, communication), providing scalability for various machine automation tasks.
The CPU is based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor running at 168 MHz. Program memory: 512 KB flash, data memory: 128 KB SRAM, with additional 2 MB external flash for recipe storage. The built-in display is a 4.3-inch TFT LCD, 480x272 pixels (WQVGA) with resistive touch. The front panel is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance. The controller includes 16 digital inputs (24V DC, sink/source selectable), 12 digital outputs (transistor, 0.5A per channel), 4 analog inputs (0-10V or 0-20mA, 12-bit), and 2 analog outputs (0-10V, 10-bit). The ATT0-CPU44 can connect to up to six ATT0-xx series expansion I/O modules via a dedicated backplane bus. Supported modules include: - ATT0-DI16: 16 digital inputs - ATT0-DO16: 16 digital outputs (transistor) - ATT0-DIO8: 8 inputs + 8 outputs - ATT0-AI4: 4 analog inputs, 12-bit - ATT0-AO2: 2 analog outputs, 12-bit - ATT0-TC4: 4 thermocouple inputs - ATT0-RTD2: 2 RTD inputs - ATT0-CM1: additional RS485/RS232 communication module. The controller is programmed using ATTO Studio software, based on CODESYS V3.5 SP19. Languages supported: Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and Continuous Function Chart (CFC). The software includes a built-in HMI editor for designing screens on the 4.3-inch display. The display can show real-time variables, alarms, trends, and parameter setting menus. The program and HMI project are stored together in the controller. Online monitoring and debugging are possible via Ethernet or USB.

The resistive touch display allows operators to monitor machine status, acknowledge alarms, adjust setpoints, and start/stop sequences. The display brightness is adjustable (0-100%). Screen saver mode extends LCD backlight life. Up to 50 screens can be created; navigation can use the touch panel or optional physical buttons on the bezel. The controller supports multi-language text (up to 8 languages) with automatic switching.
The Ethernet port supports Modbus TCP (server and client) and OPC UA (embedded server). The RS485 port supports Modbus RTU master/slave, and can be used to connect external drives, sensors, or HMIs. The USB host port accepts flash drives for program upload/download, firmware updates, and data logging (CSV format). The controller can act as a gateway between Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.
Typical applications include small packaging machines, conveyor controls, heating/cooling processes, agricultural equipment, and test stands. The integrated display eliminates the cost of a separate HMI for basic operator tasks. The expansion capability allows customization for up to several dozen I/O points.
