The Omron CJ1G-CPU45H is a high-performance loop-control CPU unit designed for complex automation applications requiring substantial program memory and data storage capacity. This CPU offers a program capacity of 60K steps and a data memory capacity of 128K words, arranged as 32K words of DM (Data Memory) and 32K words of EM (Extended Memory) across 1 bank. The CPU supports up to 1,280 I/O points and can accommodate a maximum of 40 units across 3 expansion racks, providing extensive system expansion capability for large-scale control installations.

Key specifications include a processing speed that handles ladder instructions efficiently, as well as communication capabilities via built-in peripheral and RS-232C ports. The CJ1H-CPU66H supports up to 2,560 I/O points and accommodates 40 units across 3 expansion racks. Communication capabilities include both RS-232C and Ethernet ports, enabling flexible connectivity to programming devices, HMIs, and higher-level network systems. This CPU is particularly well-suited for applications requiring high-speed synchronous control, precision motion coordination, and integration with Omron's advanced servo and vision systems.

CJ1W-PA202: Power Supply Unit

The CJ1W-PA202 is a power supply unit specifically designed for the Omron CJ series backplane, supplying clean DC power to the CPU unit and all mounted I/O modules. Operating from a universal AC input of 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, the unit provides a 5 VDC output rated at 2.8 A with a total output capacity of 14 W. An additional 24 VDC output of 0.4 A is also provided for auxiliary field device power requirements.

The power supply incorporates comprehensive protection features including overcurrent protection and overvoltage protection, ensuring that system components are safeguarded under fault conditions. CJ Series System Configuration

An Omron CJ system consists of a power supply unit, a CPU unit, and up to 10 I/O modules mounted on the CPU rack. For systems requiring more than 10 modules or exceeding the current capacity of the power supply, expansion I/O racks can be added. Each expansion rack contains its own power supply, an I/O interface module (CJ1W-II101), and up to 10 additional I/O modules. This modular architecture allows system designers to scale the I/O capacity precisely to application requirements, from small standalone machines to large production line control systems.

Software and Programming

All CJ series CPU units are programmed using Omron‘s CX-One software suite, a comprehensive automation software platform that supports program development, documentation, simulation, and maintenance functions. The software fully supports all IEC 61131-3 programming languages, providing flexibility for programmers with different language preferences. Online editing capabilities allow program modifications while the PLC continues to execute, minimizing production downtime during system adjustments or optimization efforts.
