Eaton 9PX1500IRTM Double-Conversion Online UPS for Industrial Power Protection

Product Overview

The Eaton 9PX1500IRTM is a 1500 VA / 1350 W online double-conversion uninterruptible power supply designed to provide clean, continuous power to critical industrial automation equipment. It is housed in a 2U rackmount form factor, suitable for standard 19-inch racks or tower orientation. The 9PX series offers true online operation: the load is always powered from the inverter, isolating it from all input power disturbances such as sags, surges, spikes, and frequency variations. This makes it ideal for protecting PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial computers from electrical anomalies that could cause data corruption or downtime.


Key Features of 9PX1500IRTM

The UPS features a double-conversion topology with an input voltage range of 160-276 V AC (without battery), and an output voltage of 230 V AC ±1% regulated. The efficiency in online mode is 95%, and in high-efficiency mode (ECO mode) it reaches 98%. The unit includes a user-replaceable battery pack (internal batteries) with hot-swappable capability. The battery runtime at half load (750 VA) is approximately 15 minutes, and at full load is about 5 minutes (expandable with external battery modules).

The 9PX1500IRTM includes an LCD graphic display that provides real-time status, load level, battery capacity, and configuration menus. It features 8 IEC C13 outlets (programmable load segments) and one IEC C20 input. Communication interfaces include: RS-232 serial, USB, Ethernet (optional SNMP card), and relay contact outputs for remote monitoring. The UPS supports the Eaton Intelligent Power Software suite for graceful shutdown of connected servers or computers. It also includes surge protection for network and phone lines. The unit is quiet (< 45 dBA) and has an operating temperature range of 0-40°C.

Functional Description

Under normal conditions, the UPS converts incoming AC to DC (rectifier) to charge batteries and feed the inverter, which regenerates a clean AC output. If input power fails or is out of tolerance, the inverter draws power from the battery without any transfer time. If the inverter fails or overload occurs, the UPS switches to bypass (internal static bypass) to keep power flowing to the load. The LCD shows load percentage, battery runtime, and fault conditions. The programmable outlets can be configured to shed non-critical loads during extended outages. The UPS logs up to 500 events.

Applications

This UPS is used to protect industrial control panels, networking equipment, security systems, and automation servers from power disturbances. Its rackmount design fits neatly into standard 19-inch enclosures.
