Inovance H3U-3624MT High‑Performance Small PLC

The Inovance H3U-3624MT is a third‑generation high‑performance small programmable logic controller designed for automation tasks requiring high‑speed processing and flexible motion control. It combines 36 digital inputs and 24 transistor outputs (sink type) on the base unit, with high‑speed counting (200 kHz) and pulse output (200 kHz) capabilities. The H3U‑3624MT features multiple communication ports: Ethernet, RS‑485, RS‑232, and CANopen, enabling integration with a wide range of field devices and HMIs. It is particularly suited for packaging, labeling, printing, and light assembly machinery.

Functional Description

The H3U‑3624MT executes user programs written in ladder diagram (LD) or structured text (ST). With a processing speed of 0.2 µs per basic instruction, it handles fast logic and counting tasks efficiently. The built‑in motion control library supports three independent axes for positioning (PTP), linear interpolation, and electronic cam. The high‑speed inputs can be used as counters (up to 8 channels) with preset value comparison and interrupt inputs. The transistor outputs are suitable for driving solenoids, relays, and small motors.

Communication and Networking

The integrated Ethernet port supports MODBUS TCP (client/server), allowing the PLC to exchange data with HMIs, SCADA systems, and other PLCs. The RS‑485 port supports MODBUS RTU and can be used to connect up to 32 slave devices (e.g., VFDs, sensors). An optional CANopen card enables integration with servo drives and remote I/O blocks. The programming port (RS‑232) is used for uploading/downloading programs and online monitoring.

Programming and Expandability

Programming is performed with Inovance AutoShop software, which offers an intuitive environment for LD, ST, and motion block programming. The software includes a simulator for offline debugging. Up to 7 expansion modules (digital I/O, analog, temperature) can be attached to the right side of the H3U CPU, increasing total I/O to 128 points. An SD card slot (on the side) allows program backup and data logging.

The H3U-3624MT is designed for operation in industrial environments with vibration of 5g (10–150 Hz) and shock of 15g. It is certified to CE and TÜV standards. The unit is RoHS compliant. The front panel LEDs show power, run, error, and I/O status.
