Inovance AM600-CPU1608TP Medium‑Sized PLC CPU Module

The Inovance AM600-CPU1608TP is a CPU module belonging to the AM600 series of medium‑sized programmable logic controllers. This module integrates a powerful processor, on‑board I/O, and multiple communication interfaces into a compact form factor. The AM600 series is designed for applications requiring motion control, large I/O counts, and high‑speed processing, such as packaging machines, textile equipment, and assembly lines. Functional Description

The AM600‑CPU1608TP acts as the central controller in an AM600 system. It executes the user program stored in flash memory (512 KB) and uses SRAM (256 KB) for runtime data. The built‑in EtherCAT master allows connection of remote I/O modules, servo drives, and other EtherCAT slaves with a cycle time as low as 1 ms. The on‑board high‑speed I/O can handle encoder feedback, stepper control, and high‑speed counting without external modules. The controller supports up to 4 axes of motion control (including electronic cam and gearing) directly from the CPU.

Expandability

The CPU module can be expanded with up to 16 additional AM600 series I/O modules (digital, analog, temperature, etc.) on the right side. It also supports distributed I/O over EtherCAT, allowing a total of up to 125 stations. The AM600‑CPU1608TP is compatible with Inovance’s GR10 series expansion modules (4‑axis pulse modules, analog I/O).

Programming and Configuration

Programming is performed with Inovance AutoShop software (free). The software supports all IEC languages and includes a motion control editor for cam profiles. The EtherCAT network is configured graphically, with automatic slave detection. The controller supports online debugging, real‑time variable monitoring, and data logging to an SD card (external slot on the CPU).


Approvals and Environmental

The AM600 series is CE certified and RoHS compliant. Operating temperature range: 0–55°C. The controller is designed for pollution degree 2 and can be mounted on a DIN rail or panel. Vibration resistance: 5g (10–150 Hz).
