Due to its size and power, the SO84.170 requires a robust mounting plate. The liquid cooling circuit must provide at least 11 l/min flow at 1 bar pressure. Use 3/8 inch female thread connections with drip-free quick-release nipples. An external mains choke (uk=2%) and external mains filter are mandatory for EMC compliance. Motor cable cross-sections up to 150 mm² are supported.
Commission using DriveManager 5 via Ethernet or USB. The 7-segment display provides status and error codes. Enable STO (ISDSH and ENPO) to release power stage. Parameter sets can be stored to MMC card for cloning. The drive supports fieldbus options (EtherCAT, SERCOS) and iPlc programming.
The brake chopper handles up to 103 kW continuous with external 6.5 Ω resistor. For integrated braking, the optional 5 Ω internal resistor provides 4 kW continuous and 135 kW peak. Always connect a thermal switch from the braking resistor to a digital input for overtemperature shutdown.
Suitable for servo motors up to 90 kW (400V). Typical applications include large presses, steel mill equipment, heavy-duty test stands, wind turbine pitch control, and marine propulsion. The 340A peak ensures maximum dynamic performance.
