The OMRON NX-SID800 is a dedicated Safety Input Unit designed for the Sysmac NX automation platform. It plays a critical role in functional safety by providing a secure interface for safety-related input devices such as emergency stop buttons, safety light curtains, and door switches. Engineered to meet PLe (ISO 13849-1) and SIL3 (IEC 61508) standards, this module ensures that safety functions are executed with the highest degree of reliability. This module features 8 safety digital input points. Each input is equipped with advanced diagnostic features, including detection of short circuits between input lines and monitoring of external wiring integrity. The NX-SID800 utilizes specialized filtering algorithms to eliminate signal bounce and noise, ensuring that safety signals are processed accurately without nuisance tripping. The unit supports both single-channel and dual-channel input configurations depending on the required safety level. Communication between the NX-SID800 and the Safety CPU is handled via the EtherCAT network using the FSoE (FailSafe over EtherCAT) protocol. This allows for the integration of safety signals into the standard control network without compromising safety integrity. The module's data is synchronized with the safety scan cycle, providing deterministic response times that are essential for calculating safety distances in machine design. The NX-SID800 features a compact design with a width of just 12mm, allowing for high-density I/O configurations in the control cabinet. The unit includes status LEDs for each input channel and system indicators for internal hardware health. These visual diagnostics assist maintenance teams in quickly identifying the cause of safety stops. The screwless push-in terminal blocks ensure secure and vibration-resistant wiring connections.High-Reliability Safety Architecture
