PILZ 777750 Safety Relay (PNOZ X3 Series)
The PILZ 777750 is a safety relay from the PNOZ X3 product line. It is designed to monitor emergency stop buttons, safety gates, and light beam devices with up to PL e / SIL CL 3 according to ISO 13849-1. The relay is housed in a 45 mm width package with screw terminals.
Functional Characteristics
The device operates with a 24 V DC supply voltage (range 19.2–30 V). It features three redundant safety output contacts (NO, 6 A each) and one auxiliary contact (NC). The relay can be configured for single-channel or dual-channel wiring, with automatic or monitored start. A semiconductor output for status signaling (24 V DC, 20 mA) is also provided.
Technical Specifications
Rated insulation voltage: 250 V. Rated impulse withstand voltage: 4 kV. Contact material: AgSnO2 + 0.2 µm Au. Mechanical life: 10 million operations. Electrical life: 100,000 operations at 6 A / 230 V AC. Ambient temperature: -10°C to 55°C. Storage temperature: -40°C to 85°C. Protection class: IP40 (housing), IP20 (terminals).

Diagnostics and Timing
Four LED indicators on the front panel show: power (green), input status (green), output status (yellow), and fault (red). Response time when switching off: max 30 ms. Recovery time after supply restoration: 300 ms. Short-circuit detection between channels triggers a lock-out condition requiring power cycling. The start-up test can be forced via an external button.
Applications and Integration
This relay is suitable for press brakes, assembly lines, packaging machines, and robotic workcells. It can be combined with PILZ input expansion modules (e.g., PNOZ X2.8P) for additional safety contacts. The wiring diagram is printed on the side of the unit for easy reference. The relay meets CE, cULus, and TÜV certification.
Installation Notes
Mount on DIN rail EN 60715. Use separate cable ducts for power and safety circuits. The output contacts are not suitable for high inrush loads such as large contactors; use external interposing relays. Regular functional testing (weekly or monthly) is recommended according to EN 60204-1.
