The Pilz PNOZ mm0.2p (order no. 772002) is a compact safety PLC belonging to the PNOZmulti Mini family. It offers 20 configurable safe inputs and 4 safe transistor outputs, enabling flexible safety functions up to PL e / SIL CL 3 per EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061. The base unit alone handles most machine safety requirements without external expansion modules.
Pre-approved function blocks include emergency stop monitoring, guard locking, light curtain muting, two-hand control, speed monitoring, and safety mat evaluation. Configuration is done via Pilz PASconfig software (free license). The graphic interface uses drag-and-drop of certified blocks, drastically reducing programming errors compared to traditional safety relays.
Supply voltage: 24V DC (19.2-30V). Inputs: 20 digital safety inputs (24V DC, 4mA), can be used as 10 dual-channel pairs. Outputs: 4 semiconductor outputs (24V DC, 2A each, short-circuit protected). Response time ≤ 15 ms. Memory for 32 different safety configurations, selectable via external switches. Screw terminals for field wiring.
Integrated USB interface for programming and diagnostics. Optional fieldbus modules (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET) for connectivity to standard PLC. The safety controller sends status and diagnostic messages to a higher-level control. LED bar shows individual input/output status for rapid troubleshooting. Internal logging stores 256 events with timestamp.
DIN rail mountable (width 45mm). Protection rating IP20 (finger-safe). Operating temperature -10°C to 55°C. Vibration resistance 5g (10-150Hz). The PNOZ mm0.2p conforms to ATEX for non-electrical equipment and is suitable for zone 22 dust environments with additional enclosure.

Machine tools, robotic cells, packaging lines, and conveyor systems. The 4 safe outputs can directly drive contactors up to 2A inductive load. For larger loads, external safety relays can be cascaded. The ability to add expansions (via link modules) increases I/O count without replacing base unit.
TÜV certified, CE marked, UKCA, UL listed. The device supports firmware updates for future safety standards. EMC immunity meets EN 61131-2. The product lifecycle is >10 years with spare parts availability.
The Pilz PNOZ mm0.2p (772002) brings flexibility of a safety PLC into the form factor of a mini controller. It reduces wiring and panel space while offering SIL 3 capability. For machine builders seeking certifiable safety logic, this unit is a trusted choice.
