OMRON R88M‑K75030T‑S2 G5 Series 750W AC Servo Motor

The OMRON R88M‑K75030T‑S2 is a high‑torque AC servo motor belonging to the G5 series, offering 750 W rated output at 3000 min⁻¹. Equipped with a 24‑bit absolute multi‑turn encoder (resolution 16,777,216 pulses/rev), it enables sub‑micron positioning without homing on power‑up. The motor is optimized for industrial automation applications requiring high dynamics, such as packaging machines, CNC routers, and collaborative robot joints.

Power and Torque Specifications

Rated torque is 2.39 Nm, while maximum torque reaches 7.16 Nm. The motor achieves rated torque at a stall current of 3.2 A (RMS) with 200 V AC input. Maximum current is 9.6 A. Torque constant Kt is 0.75 Nm/A. The rotor moment of inertia is 1.17 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², allowing mechanical time constant of 0.9 ms. The operational speed range is 0‑5000 min⁻¹, with constant torque available from 0 to rated speed.


Encoder and Feedback Features

The integrated 24‑bit absolute encoder (battery‑less type) retains position data for 20,000 revolutions even after power loss, using a multi‑turn counter that does not require a backup battery. This feature eliminates homing sequences on machine start‑up, increasing throughput and safety. Serial communication over two wires (SD, SD‑) transmits position and status data to the drive, supporting speeds up to 10 MHz. Encoder resolution of 16,777,216 counts/rev delivers theoretical positioning accuracy of 0.00002°.

Mechanical Construction

The frame size is 80 mm square (flange dimension 80×80 mm) with a shaft diameter of 19 mm and a keyway according to JIS B 1301. The shaft has a centre tapped M5 thread for coupling mounting. Overall length is 95 mm (excluding shaft protrusion). The housing is IP67 rated, making the motor resistant to temporary submersion and washdown. A 24 V DC holding brake is optionally available (not included on base model R88M‑K75030T‑S2).

Drive Compatibility and Control Modes

This motor mates with OMRON G5‑series servo drives (models R88D‑KT30H or R88D‑KNA5H‑ECT). Supported control modes include position, speed, torque, and fully closed‑loop with external linear scales. The drive can execute electronic gearing, cam profiling, and inertia identification functions. Feedback from the absolute encoder allows advanced diagnostics such as load inertia measurement and vibration suppression filters up to 2 kHz.

Environmental and Safety Compliance

Operating ambient temperature: 0‑40 °C, storage: -20‑80 °C. Humidity: 20‑90% non‑condensing. Vibration resistance: 5 G (10‑500 Hz). The motor meets UL 1004, CSA C22.2 No. 100, and EN 60034‑1 standards. CE marking for EMC (EN 61800‑3) and LVD (EN 60034‑5) is applied.

Applications

Common uses include high‑speed labelling, pick‑and‑place gantries, winding machines, and medical analysers. The combination of 750 W power, absolute feedback, and IP67 protection makes it suitable for both dry and wet processing environments.
