HIRSCHMANN RS20-0800T1T1SDAEHC09.1.00 Industrial Ethernet Switch
The Hirschmann RS20-0800T1T1SDAEHC09.1.00 is a managed Fast Ethernet switch from the RS20 series, designed for harsh industrial environments. It provides eight 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports, redundant power inputs, and advanced network management features including Rapid Spanning Tree, VLAN, and SNMP.
Port and Power Specifications
Eight auto-negotiating, auto-MDI/X RJ45 ports with link status LEDs. Switching capacity: 1.6 Gbit/s (non-blocking). Forwarding rate: 1.2 Mpps. Address table: 2K MAC addresses. Power supply: 24 V DC (18-32 V DC) via redundant screw terminals, consuming 3.2 W typical. Reverse polarity and transient overvoltage protection built-in. A relay contact (1A at 30 V DC) provides power fail and link loss alarm output.
Management and Protocols
Managed via web interface, Telnet, or Hirschmann Industrial HiVision software. Supported protocols: IEEE 802.1D (RSTP), IEEE 802.1Q VLAN (up to 16 groups), IGMP snooping, port mirroring, port security, and IEEE 802.1X authentication. SNMP v1/v2c/v3 for remote monitoring. The switch also supports Hirschmann’s HIPER-Ring for network redundancy (recovery < 50 ms).

Environmental and Mechanical
Extended temperature operation: -40°C to +70°C. Humidity: 10% to 95% non-condensing. Enclosure: IP30, metal housing with DIN rail mounting. Dimensions: 50 mm x 131 mm x 111 mm. Conformal coated PCB for moisture and dust protection. Vibration resistance to IEC 60068-2-6 (5 g, 10-150 Hz). Shock: 30 g (11 ms). Certifications: CE, cUL, ATEX Zone 2, and GL (marine).
Typical Applications
Used in factory automation networks, substation automation, wind turbines, and railway rolling stock. The RS20 series is known for long MTBF (>50 years) and low latency (4 µs per hop). The alarm relay can be connected to a central SCADA system to indicate power or link failure.
Installation and Initial Setup
Mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail. Ground the DIN rail via the spring terminal. Default IP address is 192.168.1.2/24. Use the serial console port (RJ45, 9600 baud) for initial password reset. Firmware updates can be performed via TFTP or HTTP. The switch has no fan, enabling silent operation in control cabinets.
